Long story short, My mother has lupus and gets these skin irritation that don't seem to do well with all the current medicines. I read somewhere that you can make some cannabis oil and that it has shown positive affects on the irritations. It may also help with the skin pain. Does anyone have any experience with this this. Also when you make the oil it will not get you high correct? She just wants it for topical use.

Hi Droogz,
Sorry I can't help you with how it works. I haven't tried the roll on or topicals yet, but plan to in a month or so. There is a chance that she could taste it even if putting it on the skin. Just depends on how strong it is. Did you find a recipe for the oil? |

I have read a few recipes online and in books. They mainly use olive oil of some sort and then add some lavender or something to help reduce the smell.
The problem with lupus is from what my mom explained to me is that any amount of time in the sun can cause irritations. She also has constant skin pain and open rashes that take months to go away. I made her some cannabis chocolates that did help with the pains but had mild high affect. I guess i will try to make some oil and see how it helps her. I will try to report back with information.

Just finished making up a batch of lotion. I think i may have added to much bees wax tough... Now i just have to let it cool. I applied some to my sore back from work about 10 minutes ago. It is currently tingling a little. I will keep people informed about how it helps with the skin irritations and skin pains.

Not to long to make. You do have to let it sit in the fridge for 2 days to get the olive oil to harden. It made separating the water easy. Then you just reheat and add bees wax and i added some lavender scent. The color is almost a pail mint green color. I used a few buds and allot of trim leaf to make it.

Update:
So far it seems to be working on a limited trial. My mom used it on some sores/ rash on her one arm. No signs of allergic reactions or side affects and the sores are clearing up. With some people lupus causes increased allergic reactions to things as common as red dye number 6. I told asked her to try it on one leg or arm first and compare it to the topical stairoid (sp) cream that was proscribed for her. She did mention a tingle feeling on her skin. I felt the same thing but not tell her about it. My father actually has arthritis in his knee he may also try it and see how it works. Here is a quick recipe I used complements of Jeff Ditchfield. 250 ml olive oil 50 grams white beeswax flakes 50 grams cannabis trim leaves (added some small buds). 1/2 Litre water liberal amount of lavender scent used for soaps and lotions from fabric/ craft store. Not sure but you would have to check the bottle but allot of times that is actually hemp seed oil. It is made with seeds and as such does not contain some sub chemicals that have been reported to help with healing and other ailments. You can also get hemp essential oil but i have not seen it here in the usa. There is also a study that ponders that fact that THC can somewhat be absorbed into the skin and have a direct affect on pain and inflammation with the head high.
