Question MMJ in Nevada
Hey there everyone. I have a few questions for anyone who has the illustrious MMJ Card.

A little about me. I received high dose radiotherapy about 5 five years ago. The radiotherapy destroyed my stomach lining and never fully healed (lots of scarring). I have a hiatal hernia now because of this and IBS that comes and goes. A few puffs in the morning is all takes to cure my morning stomach pain and throughout the day I dont have to run to the bathroom every half hour, when I smoke. Would this medical history suffice to get myself a license to smoke legally? I am not such a heavy toker these days.. A couple puffs here and there, throughout the day fixes things 99% of the time.

...So, chronic stomach pain everyday, IBS every 2 to 3 days, a history of cancer.... Sound like grounds for a MMJ Card? Or is my wishful thinking a waste of time?

Also, if you are approved for MMJ, does the DEA have authority to come knocking at all hours of the night, to check plants, amounts and such? That might not be worth it to me. Are you excluded from any normal American priviledges? Like driving, gun ownership, employment, that kind of stuff???

I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback from anyone who legally puffs, or just anyone who really knows the law and doesnt just speculate...

Thanks alot,
-NotYourKind

Hello notyourkind, sorry to hear of your pain.
Of course I'm no doc, but I would say you sound like you qualify and is worth talking to your doc about it.

A good friend of mine lives in Nevada and has a co-worker who received her MMJ card last year for stomach problems. She was not able to keep anything down and was loosing weight rapidly and so she was qualified for MMJ.

I also know of someone else there in Nevada who qualified for MMJ for pain from a motor accident.
The only problem he had with the law was just this last month.
He was pulled over for a violation on his vehicle. He didn't have his MMJ card on him at the time, but he did have MJ on him. The LEO's were going to arrest him because they never heard of Medical marijuana and basically called him a BS'er. The Serg ended up coming to the scene and told his officers to let the guy go that he was legal.

No problem.
I know the LE system out there is not nice so, if you have an opportunity to get your card, definitely worth it.

Best wishes!

I was just talking with my friend about this today and they said that they did have their card on them, the cops just didn't approve and were giving him a hard time till the Serg came out.
He went to court already and the judge said that they should be fired. He agreed with the judge the cops should be. The judge said not them, the doc who signed his card should loose his license.

Nevada is bad.

See, when the cops cant agree with the judges who cant agree with the feds, you have no choice but to stop believing everything they say, or be a sheep.

Thats not good to hear... The people in this state love to bust anybody for anything. I just found out I had a warrant (criminal of all types) for not attending traffic school 2 years ago. It was just a regular speeding ticket. The wiped me out for $740... And right before Christmas too. Aaarrgh!!!

I would assume in the case of the motorist who got pulled over, the person should have known (if theyve lived here for a couple of years) that cops here are the worst, most corrupt bastards there are. After all, drugs are not meant to be taken while driving, and it is still probably very strange to all square bastrds in the legal profession round these parts. I dont know if there is some sort of registry on cop computers when they run your plates that says wether or not you are a patient (aka "Doper"). But it almost doesnt seem worth it now. Every other state has embraced the MMJ's arrival on most levels... except for Nevada.. Sin City of all places. You can legally go out and give yourself genital warts by legally having sex w/ a prostitute, but you cant treat the burning pee with some biblical MJ... Haha.. I cant wait to move away from this place.

But this is a state where a law actually still exists that you can be hung for stealing someone's horse. Aha! Now it all makes more sense..

He was not taking meds while driving.
It was a classic example of LEO's not approving of MMJ over opium based drugs.

But still, the system out there is far worse on someone without a card.

I have mmj in cali and can say you would get approved instantly out here with proof of prior dr visits or scars showing surgery. I just showed my scars and said i was in pain when i originaly got my mmj recommend. I cant speak for nevada though. As far as the feds go,i think they only care about people making huge money off the product like medical marijuana dispensary's, they buy cheap sell high. profits of 50k a week easy at the busy shops. All i'm saying is lay low and be smart and you'll be safe and medicated.
