I hadn't used it for about a decade till needing it for pains. I'd be surprised to see anyone here say that they had never tried it before.

Yes, of course. It only makes sense. I would imagine that it's VERY difficult to get a non-cannabis user (or someone who has never used before) to begin using it as a medical treatment due to the stigma placed on the plant.

That said, I haven't consumed cannabis for a few years now and won't until I can obtain my medical card (soon, soon!).

But it's all a moot point because in my belief, all use is medical use.

That is pretty much the point I was trying to make in the other thread, sorry if it sounded like I was belittling anyone's pain, but we're all in pain, just some of us can't medically define it.
