So we all know there are doctors out there that will give anyone a script and we also know there are people who will lie about symptoms. As a whole do you think these people hurt the cause or help it by making marijuana more common place?

Good question. You know, it could be said than every legal user ups the end result of blanket legalization, but it's not that simple. As long as MMJ weed finds it's way into the lives of those who can least afford it, iento the streets, it'll be obvious that some with legal access choose to become plain old weed dealers, which is why it's still illegal in the second place, IMO.
I mean, the MMJ folks I'm aware of in Montana I feel are getting raped at 300$ an ounce . . . and lots of growers here just aren't getting it in their heads. The products is below par by glance! I know how much it costs to produce ounces of pot and it ain't nothing like 100 bux*.

yes, any scam ends up hurting others. Look, people are looking for an excuse to end legal med pot, so scams serve their cause to point and say SEE!

We don't have that issue in Montana yet . . . there's only a few doctors in this HUGE state that aren't too scared to recommend it. I mean, I'm in a major city and would have to drive fifty miles.

Yes, it does hurt the cause. Just like the pill heads who scam docs to obtain bottles and bottles of narcotics are making it more and more difficult for legit patients such as myself to obtain the meds they need.

There used to be a Govt. Glaucoma project and I knew one of the last fellow with a bonafide prescription for Govt. weed. He was allowed to keep it till he dies. It was the abuse of the program which got it shut down. His name was Fred, and with the weed (it was awesome), he could continue to work as an electrician. Think how many people today with Glaucoma could be getting LEGAL relief!? It's a pity. i feel for you K.J.

I never asked him for any either. That's why one day he shared his story and his joint. Both were well received.

I don't believe that's true at all, the Federal MMJ program was shut down by the first shit Bush, and there was no abuse, the system was working perfectly. It was shut down by prohibitionist republicans.

As for the MMJ cause being hurt by anyone's actions, you guys are being too short-sighted about this. Anything that anyone does in the realm of medical use is good for our cause. And any Doctor that is writing recommendations is doing an heroic act. We should be forever grateful.

And no one can say that someone else doesn't have a legitimate use for marijuana. That is between patient and Doctor. Just because you can name your malady and someone else can't describe theirs is no reason to deny them what you have access to.

It can benefit all of us in many ways. Like Dennis Peron said, "All use is medical."

I totally agree with you. My post above was in reference to those who deliberately scam the doctors in order to get recommends. Those who are totally healthy (like a poster in another thread) and who lie to their doctors in order to get the recommend. If they have a legitimate medical need, I don't even care if it's as simple as a minor headache, and their doctor thinks cannabis will help them, then they deserve a recommend.
