Jimmy was trying to put forward a valid point that there is no harm done to the society if pot is legalized.

Obama is a moderate democrat not a raging liberal, so he's not going to legalize cannabis this term or the next one. (Keep in mind it was never a campaign promise either.) And Romney is a fundamentalist fiscal conservative, with past brushes of moderation in health care policy and education policy. But today, he's just another blend of new era Reagan ism. (Romney probably could have been an actor instead of a venture capitalist.) Honestly, the best chance at sustainable and continued cannabis reformation is not the rescheduling, (that's a fantasy, were at least a decade away from that) but completion of the nation-wide decriminalization process is the first stepping stone towards the long journey for legalization. Then hopefully medical access to cannabis use is implemented in all 50 states soon afterwards. After the states or at least a vast majority have loudly voiced the obvious, (medical access and increased state revenue directly attributed to the process) then the feds will step in to finish the deal. The stigma that a lot of people in America still carry towards pot must also be eradicated and ending criminal consequences for its possession a.k.a. decriminalization; is of utmost importance in our struggle for renewing our civil liberties.
