I want to become a licensed grower/vender
Oct 19th a new policy was made that the federal gov't can't intervene on medical marijuana state laws. This is good news. I want to walk away from my dead end job and move to California or one of the other 13 states that allows medical marijuana and do something I enjoy doing. I want to be a licensed grower/vendor.
I am thinking CA would be the best bet because it seems to be the strongest market. I know I can enlist in classes at the Oaksterdam College and I plan on that, but I was wondering if someone first hand could tell me more about it or PM and we can talk that way too!

i live in cali, so i know about that if u have any questions,
as far as becoming a vendor, i know that you are going to need to become a caregiver for a lot of people so u can legaliy grow a lot of weed.
personally i know that most of the clubs i deal with are very tight knit as far as what vendors they use. but if you know how to grow real quality im sure you could make some $
the main thing is that you become a caregiver
im assuming that you are a medicinal patient and that you know how to grow very well... correct?

Thanks for the reply!
I'm not a patient yet. I live in the mid west (stone age) where it isn't allowed. I do have a grip on growing and I plan on touching up on it over the next year even more.
I need to sell my house first before I make my move. I just want to have a good idea on the legal aspect of it. I do plan on taking the Classes available at Oaksterdam in Dec.

Nope. Courts don't recognize caregiver status in California unless you're providing other forms of care to that person. What you want to do is form a collective OR find a way to grow your legal limit but do it in multiple spots.

Yes. Most clubs are that way. You just have to become part of that circle.
Just take a pound and shop it around. I had to go to 20+ clubs until I found a few that were right for me. You're going to want to give a good price when establishing a relationship. You should sell your first few pounds at a relatively low price. Forget about getting top dollar, you're establishing a relationship that is more important than squeezing them for a few bucks.
But do NOT offer the clubs pounds at the exact same price every time. Come up with a slightly different price each time. If you don't they'll expect EVERY pound you give them to always be that same low price. Since you are offering them a bargain for the first few transactions you have with them, you don't want that price to be permanent. So very your prices on pounds even if your only doing it by a small amount.
Basically, don't just go into clubs you don't know asking $4k a pound and expect to get rich. It doesn't work that way.

So a collective is a garden comprisisng of a number of growers, up to a maximum of 4 people in CA, am I correct? and this is the only real way and legal way to be able to grow larger amounts and if you wanted to produce even higher numbers you would work out how to manage multiple collectives, is that the deal? Thanks for your info Dan Kone. Peace all

Pretty much but I'm pretty sure it's 3 max people (I think that depends on your county). More than that and you are considered a dispensary and must get permits from your city/county to have a dispensary. In some counties that's 300sq feet + 9# dry. And there is nothing in the law saying you can only take part in one collective. Every time you go to a club that makes you sign a form, you are joining their collective (which doesn't mean you are growing for their collective!, start your own!).
