Default Any words of wisdom? =) When and how much to prune.. (PICS)
As you can see, upgraded lighting to 400W HPS, and plant is looking much healthier. Having issues now with leaves (only a few, maybe 4 or 5) turning completely upside down, and a few of the TIPS of leaves are turning crispy and coming off. Any tips? Thought I might be over fertilizing, but then I thought it was a deficiency if the leaves were curling upside down. Any advice would truly help, as I am giving my all to this *hopefully!* lady...

Also, when and how much can I prune? I want to make sure this plant gets as bushy as it can before I flower. Strand is Jock Horror, and biggest is almost 3 months old!! *She* is so little, I know, but was under only 2, 2' flouos until yesterday morning when I introduced the HPS. So hopefully the change of lighting will make her grow faster.

4oow is ok .. good results with that... but, check the temp....ur very close to 85*......plants stop growth at over 85* for cannabis......heat stress and too strong of nutrients...there still small so..... light nutrient will do.... leach the plants with lukewarm water.......and give them outdoor treatment.mother nature cures and brings amazing results when plants suffer indoors.... please leach the soil and give the plants a breeze of fresh air with carbon dioxide outdoor

your temps are alright...I veg my plants hotter than that.....but you need to up your humidity 60 to 70%. throw a fan on em to keep your air circulating and dont take them outside...you will most likely bring pests back into your growroom and contaminate it. also...no nutes yet....just water with about 30% runoff and you should be good.

honkeytown- I have a question. If she increases humidity on 28 by 60% that would result is a humidity around 44.8%. I wanted to know if this is ok because my humidity runs from 40-50% and I was always worried that was too high.

I agree on temps though because I was outdoor for years and it was way hotter than that where I grew, plus my cab runs from 77night-86.4day and the girls are doing fine.

Regarding the humidity...On my other posts (when I really was having problems with the plants) I noted that my elevation is 4500', and after having a few plants die on me when my humidity was at 60%, I did a little research about elevation. There is not as much oxygen where I live (considered the High Desert), and the air is VERY dry. If my humidity is too high, it basically drowns the plants. They need less as they cannot breathe as well at this elevation.

Regarding taking them outside, I don't think that would be such a great idea, as noted above---risk of pests. Spider mites LOVE it here because it IS so dry. Rather not risk it =) They do get plenty of CO2...we have a high powered circulating fan and the door ajar with a fan in the open window pointing straight in. (about 10' away)

I watered with light nutes last night, and most of the upside down leaves have pretty much corrected themselves. Trying to figure out NOW, how to get the plant to bush out and produce more. Should I really not get the temp any higher than 85? Thanks fellow connoisseurs!!!!

Ideally in veg you want your humidity around 60-70%

Let it go, try not to do too much at once, it takes a few days for anything you do to have noticeable effects. Let the soil dry out between waterings, no real need to nute at this stage either. You can definitely tell they stretched pre HPS. get a fan on those plants, not too strong though, you dont want to blow them over. Everything will be fine if you take it slow and don't try to do anything too drastic.

Checked out your journal...VEEEERY nice =) I just think that I started out the bigger one way wrong, and believe it or not, that one is like 2 1/2 months in veg, and only that tall. So, I've been using the 400W HPS for like a day now, and waiting for some more progress. Pardon the ignorance here, but you said 30% run off...So I should water until I see about 30% of the water come through the bottom? If that is the case, I wonder if I have been UNDERwatering, as I don't ever get runoff. Yikes! lol

Also, regarding misting, how often should I foliar feed? Right now, I have lights on 24/7, as I am trying to get larger plant bigger, and babies are only about a week old. I can DRASTICALLY tell the difference from the first one I sprouted (under to flouro 2' grow bulbs from HDepot) and the 3 others (under HPS). Sooooo, hoping the babies wont have the same issues.

Anyway, after all my babbling, I would really appreciate any comments!! =)

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the compliment....yeah those babies dont grow very fast unless you are using hps...as far as the runoff goes...20 to 30 % will drain all of the salts and shit that build up in your soil. you are correct by the way 30% of what you put in....always check the ph on that runoff. and...I only foliar feed when my soil is too wet to water again and the plants need some nutes....everything will come right along for you now with that 400...you are gonna have a big ass smile in about two weeks when you can really see the difference it makes

Thanks, I sure hope so! Got the humidity up to about 35% (from 2, but it feels REALLY muggy in there. Im gonna hold at that for a couple days to see how *hopefully* she reacts. Thanks for the info! =) Will put more pics up in about a week to see the difference.
