cee...are you sure it works backwards like that? I remember my doc saying I needed to stay away from it for a couple of years and my reaction wouldn't be so severe...it seems to have been true. I only got it really bad the one time.
My husband used to never be affected. Last year he got just a little bit on him and he broke out not with the swelling type of rash, but with huge open sores. It was awful and very painful (not just itchy) for him. My son is so sensitive that if any of the animals get it on them and they even brush by him, he's all swelled up like... was it Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka's factory..? Who said that? Was it you? Anyway, it's pretty bad for him, too. My F-I-L doesn't do shit around here, and he claims he's also sensitive, so whenever we find any (and there's plenty for us to find) I'm the one who gets to get back in there and spray it and remove it.

Last year I found A TREE of poison oak, it literally had a trunk. I'd been talking to one of my sisters about the problem, especially with how difficult it is to eradicate and she told me an excellent trick--you drill holes into the stalk (or trunk in this case) and pour in the poison oak/ivy killer and then it will systemically kill it. I couldn't drill, but I could make cuts with a saw and it was wild seeing how big that fucker was about a week later. I could not believe how big it was, but I got EVERYTHING. It all turned bright red right before it died.

And cee, DEFINITELY get yourself the Technu line of products. There is nothing as good as Technu that I've heard of yet.

An update, another one bites the dust. I'm getting a good organic soil to plant my good seeds in during the week. And I'm learning about ecto/endo mycorrhizal fungi. These creatures are the shit.

yeah, those fungi are all up in the FF soil lines.

i have seen some fucking trees near my shit. i went in there with pruners and brought down what seemed like enough to build myself a house -- and that was just enough to have a trail across a ridge free enough to travel across!!

i thought soapy water was good enough, and haven't had any problems since ... it can survive a shower or a warm laundry cycle??

Soap and water will wash it off as far as I know.

Seamaiden....yeah it was me about the wonka. I think it was Veruca...good memory! Yeah they grow big this time of year...the ivy usually starts to yellow before fall...which makes it easier to spot. It still has all the bad juices though. Also wouldn't recomend using a drill(i know you didn't) You can sling the oil onto yourself...learned the hard way once with a weed-eater. I've gotten poison oak from accidentally burning some of the old vine in the late fall....while trying to keep warm on the job. Evidently the smoke can mess you up just as bad. I've been told that I was lucky I didn't inhale the smoke as supposedly you can get it in your bloodstream.

Yup Myco fungi are awesome...I get mine through Advanced Nutes Piranha, plus voodoo juice. I can't remember if its endo/ecto...and I can't remember the difference.

Cee...I don't usually have a problem with soap and water...but I have gotten it from freshly washed clothes...so I just take the extra precaution. At least I used to before we got this new washing machine with a sanitize function...oh yeh lol

I've been going away alot and checking on my plants is a delight when I'm not checking every uhm 2 hours hahaha.

I'm glad to see that your stalks have formed leaveS

Sad that six died.

I'm very happy for your new plants though, they look wonderful

I don't have a single male plant, which is kind of a downer as I was hoping to get more seeds, but I'll have lots of bud I suppose :P

Most of them are unlikely to make it, but it was worth the effort and was definitely a learning experience. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
