Default My Babies aren't doing so hot, Help!
These are my two and a half week old ladies in miracle grow soil from bagseed (budget, i know). They under some decent cfls so that should be fine until they bulk up. I am watering with bottled water every 2 or 3 days. Yesterday leaves started turning yellow and curling up and tiny spots that were redding orange, almost like rust in appearance started showing. Here are some pics, does anyone think this could be a nute deficiency? im thinking of replanting in some nicer soil flushing and then hopefully they will perk up. Does anyone know what might be wrong. Sorry for these pics theyre from my camera phone.

from everything i know i would say that it is potassium def. But they are in miracle grow so they shouldnt need nutes for like three weeks. They look a little big for two and a half weeks so do they maybe need nutes already?

mg is 3 month time release . haven't you seen the threads where mg kills peoples plants! There are at least 7 posts a week on problems with mg. Your plant is being overfertilized by the soil more nutes will kill it transplanting to the same mg soil will most likely kill it too. 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat moss BOTH NON MG PRODUCTS and 1/3 of some compost add 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime to a gallon of mix. After the transplant (maybe a week)when there is new growth then you can begin with fertilizer. You need to check your ph too buy a pool ph tester kit and test the runoff to get an accurate reading it should be at 6.4 to 7.0 for soil.

One thing I've noticed with pre fert dirt that it always mess up plants where they are constantly watered (noobs). I've used it myself and had great results.

I transplanted then ladies today and im happy to say 24 hours later they look better. I think next watering i may including a go a little extra and try to flush since i am using miracle grow soil. Thanks guys. Also i bought this stuff called superthrive which seemed to really improve their condition. Has anyone else ever tried this stuff?

I use superthrive and I have no complaints, it is not a fertilizer just a vitamin supplement and can be used with fertilizers. Glad to hear your plants are doing better! You did use the dolomite too, that is essential. I am subscribed so any problems just let me know!

SunnyD- How do you flush with the MG soil?
