Exclamation 1st time grower, long time smoker, HELP SAVE!!!
I'm a 1st time grower in miracle grow soil, 12qt plastic pots, 8 75wt CFLs, 3 volunteer plants that are at 4-5 node transplants from random throws in the dirt by my house - dug up and moved indoors and am losing them as the leaves are dying and looking dry, stem still green near top but losing color to yellow at the bottom I am giving them 1/2ltr of water daily. too much?, my others are 8 started indoors and the leaves are green and curling dry/dying on the ends at 1-2 node, but they are still progressing their growth - checked ph and itz at 6.8.... what do i do???? I don't want to pay for bud anymore and want to grow but am very unsuccessful... I am the greenthumb antichrist... please drop me tips

Default yeah
the leaves are droopy and look like they are shriveling dry, but the soil is constantly damp. the lights are 4-8in away and for the 4-5node volunteers and am keeping them 20hr on 4 off and my new springer in the peatmoss pods are 24hrs til I see a 2nd node is that good?

light is probably fine. i would guess at this point that they are overwatered. are those 75W or 75W equivalent?

I think that those poor plants are DROWNING. Everything I'm reading states very clearly that they like to dry out between waterings.

yeah i get that impression too. succulents, for example, have to be dried out like that. Jade, cacti, etc.

MJ's native environment, however, can involve daily rains .. the problem is that the wicking from the surface to surrounding soil is much better outdoors that indoors.

I posted a related question a few days ago about how I should set my drip system - every 12, 24, or 48 hours ...

1. Use ph 6.2 - 5.8.
2. Water every third day.
3. Need more light. 75 Watt effective is actually about 23 Watts real. Puts out about 800 lumens per bulb. You need
4000-6000 lumens per square foot of floor space within 4 inches of the plant tops.

What is actually happening is you are starving the plants and drowning them.
