im trying a home-made hydroponic setup w. just things i have at the house, ie. no O2 pumps.

i know that water can get "stale", although i dont know what that means for water (for food yes), except for maybe that the water starts to build up mildew or unwanted bacteria.

Depends on the size.Most nutes have the need res change listed on thier schedule and chart. In general a 30 gallon or les res should have a complete res change once a week and larger res every 2 weeks all water changes

Get an air pump with a stone, it will put oxygen in the water which keeps the water moving and the oxygen helps with nutrient uptake. Like Filthy says change your water every 7- 10 days or at max 2 weeks.

cool thanks guys. that will help a lot. i dont want to get an air pump bc it's too expensive. im on day 4 of my home made hydroponic setup (w.o o2 pump) and my plant is doing very well. it was healthy before too, but i was tired of lugging around a giant pot in and out of the house.

also, lots of ppl have told me here that MG (miracle grow) soil can cause the herb to taste harsh. i didnt want this bc im into day 7 of 12/12 and wanted to transplant into a hydro setup. also wanted to experiment w. this setup w. the mecc seed i grew b4 i started it on a chronic strain.
