For the last few days, I have been misting the plants with PH'd water with a drop of detergent in it to prevent beading. I haven't watered because the soil is still moist to the touch after 3 days without water.
One thing that I've noticed though, is that the yellowing has seemed to progress. Some of the older growth is showing yellow/brown spots, but the new growth has interveinal yellowing (almost looks like a green and yellow zebra pattern). Also, all 16 of the plants now have deep purple stems. Some of the leaf tips near the tops of the plants are burnt (but not serverely), which I'm assuming is due to the light being too close. I got the light as far up as I could and they're looking better. The first time I watered, I unknowingly watered with tap water with a PH of 8.3. From the research I've done, the plants look like they are the victims of high PH (unless they're victims of the infamous HydroHut syndrome). Would watering for the first time with such a high PH cause a salt buildup in the soil? See my grow journal for more information. |

How could I possibly have a nitrogen deficiency when I transplanted 6 days ago into fresh FoxFarm Ocean Forest?
Could my initial watering with the high PH water have locked out the N? |
