no, its just so that the soil doesn't go lower or higher than the ph your after, but in your case that watering with the right ph water isn't lowering your soil ph enough, the only thing i can think of is to try lower ph water in hopes that it will drop you into the right zone.

there are soil amendments to alter PH, I know lime does something to it, its in the growfaq, didn't seem to say anything else though.

lime raises ph and stabilizes (buffers). Water with the lower ph and it will help. Flush with a ph of 5. If your are at 7 and you want 6 water with 5. But I wouldn't reccomend a ph lower than 6.5 in soil. This watering with a lower ph has helped me out of the same situation you are in now. Good luck. There are soil amenments that will lower or rise ph. Look into it.

2jjs here, i'm a newbie , have a month old that was growing quick outdoors with lotsa rain water. had to tran to bigger pot . now i'm got spider mite, and rusty larger leaves. can i spray it with sevin like my tomato plants ? it's three foot and iused miricle grow potting soil. also when will it flower and what do i do for nutes? thanx for some quick replies. 2jjs

you should take your ppm down 1150 is high for veg stage im at 630 with hydro growing og sour og and gdp its plenty, when i flower im at around 1200 maybe a lil higher...
