Default Roommate overwatered my plants....
Alright well i'm just getting started out with my first grow...i got some seeds from a friend which came fromt the bahamas. Everything was growing great until this last week when i left for spring break. There's 5 plants in roughly 1 gallon containers under a 100watt hps and 2 4 foot double flouresents. The plants were at about day 12 when my roommate took over and all were growing extremely fast. I thought everything would be fine....i set out a couple gallons of distilled water, and even gave me roommate exact instrustions on how much and when to water them. The end result is ended up freaking drowing my plants in water! I found this out half way through my trip and told him stop. This was 6 days ago and the soil is still moist. I'm not too worried though, since i've been back and hooked up my new 400watt MH/HPS light they seemed to have picked up a lot.

My question is what should i do with the yellow dead leaves toward the bottom of the stalk? Should i get them off completely, halfway, or just leave them alone?...I'm talking about the leaves that are completely dry and dead.

One other question is should this delay my timeline i had for them? I was planning on transplanting 2 days ago(roots are coming out of the wholes in the bottom of the pots); letting the plants sit for a week to adjust, and then start flowering. I need to force them into flowering as soon as possible but i'm afraid if i transplant and flower right now that it would be too great a shock to the plants?

Tell me what you guys think, and thanks for any help you can give me!

i would just let them leaves ( the dead ones ) fall off on their own ... ,, let it dry out for 4 or 5 days , depending on how big ur pots are ,,, .. piss on ur roomate , give him some 20/20/20 , bury his ass & wait for a response

Haha good advice...so i guess my plan is to let them dry a little bit more so I don't risk the root ball breaking and then transplanting them. For now I'll leave the leaves alone but I'd like to hear from a few others on that. Will new leaves eventually grow back down low?

In my opinion i say you start by cutting off the leaves that are "dead and dried up"... my rule of thumb is if the leaf is more than 50% damaged i'll cut it off... as for the watering/transplanting... you can wait, but transplanting now probably wouldn't hurt too much, might help them dry out a little bit faster.... good luck, and get a new roommate!

They will fall of so no real reason to mess with them right away. Eventually they will be to the point they drop or you lightly tug and they pop right off.Slapp your friend 4 times and put him in the corner
