    Default Question about addressing deficiencies

    Hello Great RIU Folks!

My plants are doing great -- I topped during the week and they're just busting out into bushes.

I've been following the "under-nute" rule, and they're growing beautifully. However, I first had a calcium deficiency a week ago -- so upped that nute a bit from 25% strength to 50% strength and the yellow spotting stopped dead in its tracks. Obviously there were little bits of damage that will never go away, but there's no new damage on this front.

Today I noticed yellow-lightening with deep green veins -- okay, another deficiency. So now I'm going to increase to 60% and see if that abates as well.

My question is this: If I ease upward in nutes from 50% to 60% to 70% etc and wait a day or two between to see the effect, do I run the risk of not correcting the deficiency quickly enough?

Or with this deficiency (which could be a couple of things it seems) will it improve at whatever point I hit the right balance?

    Thanks!
    KG

Your increasing feedings is right on. However, with each increase follow that with two watering and check for any possible overdose. Nitrogen being the most common and easily observed. Save that leaf illustration that poster was kind enough to upload. It will be of great use as you continue.

Thanks, HRH...I'm in hydro, so do you think putting 48 hours between dosage increases would be appropriate? Or longer than that?

That I will defer on as I have only started my first 2 DWC grows the last 2 weeks. I added every 24 hours until my seedlings responded and then increased by about 100 PPM every 48 hours. I am really experimenting but have grown in dirt since 1964. Knowing plants I would say 48 would be perfect and give the plant to a chance to respond to the increase in nutrient available. Others?

I find printing the different charts and putting in transparent plastic sleeves in the grow log makes for fast reference.
Have a great one. Advice is for folks with a legal grow and worth what you paid for it.

Cool -- that sounds like a reasonable way to start. Cheers!
