I just started a hydroponic system in my veg room. It's a drip system that has a reservoir, 4 stand pots and 4 planting pots that sit in the stand pots. In my planting pots I have rockwool cubes nested inside of crumbled rockwool. My plants are growing vigorously and the root system looks really healthy. My question is, should I trim the roots that are growing so fast that they are now sitting on the bottom of the reservoir constantly in the nutrient solution or should I leave them? (see illustration). I wasn't sure if the roots should be contained in the rockwool or left free to grow all over the place including the bottom of the nutrient reservoir?
P.S. I included a real picture of the hydro system in question Thank you for any help! PM |
