1st grow - skunk no.1 and I've created a monster - advice urgently needed!!

Hello everyone, this may be a long one but i appeal to everyones empathy and superior knowledge, and thought it best to set out whats what?

I've smoked for years but have only just ventured into growing for myself cos i don't want to be dealing with dodgy types anymore and am fed up of being ripped off?!

1st grow attempt - Skunk No. 1 - Flood and drain - 600w hps - 2m x 1m x1m grow tent - very excited/anxious

Turned the lights to 12/12 3 weeks ago at a height of about 1.5 feet and they have been getting grow A & B at a level of 18 cf and 6.0 ph.

I've had teething problems with temperatures and have added oil radiators to sort this out but i think that the long and the short of it is that i've made mistakes and have arrived at a point where the plants are looking really really lovely and healthy, green and luscious but seem to have stalled and are as tall as my tent will allow, they just keep going upwards? i've got white hairs all around but have had for a couple of weeks now?

i have to confess to topping them a week into 12/12 as i was worried about how tall they were getting and i'm under no illusion now that this was wrong but there you go? you live and learn.... (hopefully?)

What do you all think is the best way forward? Can i rescue this grow? the poor girls are gonna get scorched and it's heartbreaking!!

just managed to gain another 4 inches on the light but can't go any further?

I'm quite sure there are peolpe reading this and thinking 'goddam newbies' but i want to be better!!! Sorry

Any help, advice or just opinion would be very welcome?

Yeah, i kinda figured i've been over cautious and left it too long at each stage?

Anyway back now though do you think?

I also use a ebb and flood I only grow ak ,chronic, and humboldt. Have stayed with same strains for years. My chronic plants ended up 3 inches from light. 400 watt argo sun.. Hydro farm set up. Anyway its a 10 pot set up . I put a couple towels on floor and moved my ebb and flood to the left side of closet. I only put plants in top tray of ebb n flood during watering for 6 min every 6 hours . 4 plants . While they were under light i put the plants in extra pots on towels on floor . My ebb n flood is about 13 inches tall. Removing from tank gavee 13 . Extra inches. This way you loose a total of about an hour of light between. Watering and draining . Hope this helps . your plants look great. PEACE

One thing I left out. doing what I did i

i did the same thing too except i had a 4x4 flood and drain table and 1000w hps with super silver haze and it grew too close to the light. i bought some trellis netting and put the net over the plants and kinda pushed them down with it and then tightend the net. then kept bending the plants under it. it helped keep it from going any higher but couldnt lower it that much. i think if you lower the set up and then net it it should be fine if theres enough distance from the canopy. now everytime i start a grow i make sure the net is up first at a good level. seems to work great.

Hey gmc, I switch to 12/12 when they're a month old and or roughly 12 inches tall. The stunted growth is normal when you cuz bits and pieces off and I would think even more so when you change them over then a week later cut em. At that 1 week under the 12/12 they haven't had time to get used to the new light so everything was a bit traumatic. Most people top when in veg. I've never topped mine but my 3 I have right now will be about a week from now which will be roughly a month old. Been on a 24 hour veg time under CFL for 2.5 weeks now and just switched to MH 400 watt. These are just my opinions since I'm not a pro.

I had a hunch that my brutal topping a week in had stalled it?

Don't suppose you know how much training them stresses them out do you?

have you tried super cropping? bend the top colas down! how long have they been stretching in flower? usually signifies 1/3 of the flower time.

Seems that the bloomin timer mucked up and the girls have been on 18/6 this whole time!!!

Spoke to the shop and gonna cut back and then add a flower hormone. Should squeeze 2 weeks if flowering into a couple of days??

I'll let you all know what happens....
