this is my third grow and i am in my 3rd week of veg. I have found a white grub, sort of like a small cattapiller about 6mm long. Any idea as to what this is. It may have come from the compost bag i left in the shed.
Is there a safe way of getting rid....
i have 10 plants and all have used the same compost mix so i am worried that it could be in the other pots also.
any help graetly recieved.

Sounds like a leatherjacket - Crane fly larvae. They eat roots so get rid of it. Could be more in bags that have been opened. I would be sorely tempted to re-pot with new soil. They will be due a re-potting soon any way I would imagine.

they are ready to pot up in about a week or so. is there anything i can water in to kill the mothers

Just pot into clean medium. I sometimes wash root systems in a bucket of tepid water to clean old soil/nutrients. This will do it I am sure.

well , i have made myself a new box for my grow closet. and will attatch photos when i can. I am going to change the soil tomorow morning and see if there is any more of those little beggers. I am not taking any chances.
going to put them all in one large box that fits snugly into my closet. The plants are in week three and need potting on anyways.

here are some photos of my box, then the box in place.
not sure how many plants i can get in it. any ideas guys.

the box is 3ft wide by 1 ft high (deap) and 1.5 ft width

well.. one idea would be to scrap that wooden box and get a couple 10 gal rubbermaid containers... ( walmart has some made by Sterlite that are about $5 or $6 ) .. then u fabricate some dividers to create 4 - 2.5 gal sections..

i have looked everywhere for those containers to fit my grow cabinet but cant find the right size. so i made the box and was going to line it with strong plastic with crock as drainage.
why do i need to segregate each plant ? . can they not just share the space.

are you saying that i could get eight plants in this area and trim when needed. ? so they dont get too bushy.

was thinking of having 5 plants but if you think i can get more into the space then i shall.
it will be tight though.
