My plant does not appear healthy - request any/all advice on my prob(s). Grow is 3-4 weeks old. I have used nutes once (<1/4 strength) and plant health deteriorated rapidly after moving this plant to within 2" of lights. Thanx in advance!

My setup:

  • · “Rubbermaid” style grow box

  • · 6 - 100w equivalent CFLs

  • · 50 CFM fan

  • · Nirvana feminized Northern Lights planted in 16oz plastic drink cups

  • · Grow medium is Pro mix BX with handful of pea gravel in bottom of each cup

  • · Watering with distilled water adjusted to ph ~6.5

  • · Plants within 4 - 6 inches of lights
Growing conditions:

  • · Temps 75-83 degrees F
  • · RH 30%
  • · 20/4 light cycle

and do you flush your plants?up the nuets also to 1/2 strength its about time for them to go in 12/12.look ima help you ok dont let me down im a first timer but i read alot and thats why my shit looks good.go out and get you some mg organic bone and blood meal it gives your plant the pnk it needs also grab some cal/mag your going to need that for the flowering stage and bloom but thats when you switch.flush your plant with some ph balaned water1 gallon.after that sprinkle the bone and blood meal on top of the soil and water again so that it can get into your soil and let it get dry about 2 days then come back and water with the nuets 1/2 strength and youll be cool

your ph is too high it should be between 5.3-6.3 no higher than 6.4
Hes in promix. Thats what I use and I keep my ph at 6.8-7.0 and my plants grow like crazy! Those numbers are for hydro. PH needs to be higher unless that strain likes acidic soil, but dont sound like it to me.

Do yourself a favor and ignore skinitti666 since he has no idea what the fuck he's talking about. Your plants look overwatered and over fertilized. Leave them alone. You are making a traditional mistake. You don't need to feed plants ANY nutrients while they are in those little cups. When they are starved for food, they will also be starved for space. A simple transplant to larger pots with a good quality soil will solve any feeding problems you have for another 3-4 weeks. That's generally about when you'll be changing the light cycle to 12/12 to induce flowering.

The only thing I would do to save this little plant and get it moving along is carefully transplant to a larger container with good quality soil. Water it ONCE nice and heavy. Wait until it's running off pretty well, then just leave it alone for about 5 days. She'll come back around and show you plenty of new growth that is green and proper colored.

The ph of your water should be about 7.0 (nuetral) and everything will be just fine.

Haha...you are 2 weeks into growing. That's the extent of your growing experience by the looks of your "Journal". I'm not going to argue with some noob. You need to actually grow plants and gain experience before you go around trying to help others that are just as lost as you are. All that you are likely to do is help this guy kill his plants. You advised that doubling the feeding (bumping up to 1/2 strength) is the way to resolve problems on a plant that is CLEARLY nutrient burned.

Isn't there a minimum age for this forum?

come look at mine dummy and tell me if somethings wrong with mine and im 5 weeks into my 1st ever grow no fuck ups at all had a cal mag pro seen it coming from a mile away knew what to do and its solved...heres the link tell me genius https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/484653-220w-cfl-closet-grow-1-a.html
Dummy....really? There's plenty wrong with your grow setup. Your lights are about a zillion miles too far from your plant and you're only going to get a few grams off that thing.

First pic is yours @ 5 weeks flowering, and the second is mine at 4 weeks...

Hiya Raz,
You should really get those out of those little cups. They are prob root bound.
why gravel at the bottom of cup?
is your medium soil or coco?i dont know the product you use..
If you are looking to get some really great pots try airpots or smartpots. They are great!
you can tell when you girls need water by feeling the weight of the pot. Let them get nice and light and dry before you water again.
What ever nute you are using go by the feed schedule, thats ususally good to follow.
good luck and have fun.
peace

yea you have better shit than i do more watts than i do and i have 200ws 3 inches from the tops those other lights over ther are for my 12/12 from seed and its about 175ws over there and that lights hitting my plant all over and tech. it started flowering 2 weeks ago just been in 12/12 5 then her box feel over during day 3 of it so that was a set back ive learned and moved on but youre a lame dude stop talking to me faggot
Haha.....

Here's one of mine using a 250watt. These are @ 5 weeks, just like yours...Grown in a closet before I had my whole setup that I'm using now.

I am sure the OP can decide whether or not it is a solid plan to follow your advice of bumping up the feeding or whether he should disregard the guy with little to no growing experience.

Thanks for playing.

You should reread this thread troll. All I said was that the OP should disregard your poor advice to bump up his feeding since you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. I stand by that. I'm happy for you that your plants are alive and you are enjoying your first grow, but when people post on here asking questions and looking for advice, they don't need poor advice from NEW growers. Restrain yourself from posting advice and directing people how to resolve problems. It's more damaging to this user if he follows your advice than if he had done nothing at all with it.

You didn't "stoop" to my level, you started WELL below it. Only one person here has resorted to name calling and slinging infantile attacks without base. Consider being a bit more humble and you might be able to use this forum to learn something.

Wow - hope it wasn't anything I said that ignited this "spirited" discussion. I am very grateful for all the advice and do plan to transplant into a larger pot (and out of clear cups).

In answer to questions posed: I'm using Promix BX as a medium; it's quoted as being "soil less" - mostly peat I assume, with perlite and dolomite lime added. Contains minimal nutes and that's why I fed plant at ~ 3wks (using Jack's fert). Concerning pea gravel in bottom of pots - that's the way I plant my container tomatoes in the summer and it seemed like the practice would help here. I'm under the assumption that the gravel facilitates drainage.

Thanx again to all for engaging and helping this noob along!

agreed, thats a soil set up, 6.8 for pH. the yellowing on the bottom, this early in development is usually nitrogen deficiency, but fix the PH issue first, then add in nitrogen. keep in mind that nitrogen will LOWER pH, so aim for 6.9 or 7, then add it in.
