mold/fungus/mildew?

Doing my 2nd grow (un-doced) with a couple auto's.
Noticed that the top of my soil is starting to get white.... mold? fungus? mildew? Not sure which of the 3, wish I could take pictures but my camera is out of service =\
You can see patches of white, a lot of them, on the soil of one of them. The 2nd one isnt as bad, but its there.
I probably over watered so that could be why I have it. =\

Im wondering if this is a correct method to fix it? ... Let soil dry. Take a plastic spoon and take the top layer (infected layer) off and throw. Then mist (just mist) the soil with a Vinegar and Water mix.

Or is there something at Walmart I can buy? Any Product anyone can throw out there and recommend that wont harm my girls?

(setup: 2 Fruit Auto's, 3gal pots, Roots Organic Soil, pH tap water, havent started nutes yet. 80`deg, 55% humidity lights on, 50% off)

hey.. Kinda helped, but the mildew is on the top of the soil.
shes about 2-3 weeks in.

Vedder6- 50% mixture of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water works well as a spray to kill surface mold on top of soil and on plant leaves also. If you grow organic then don't drench the soil just spray the surface. If you drench the soil with this mixture it can kill off the good microbiotic elements in a organic soil grow. ..... Question, do you have good air circulation in your grow area? And how often do you have to water your plant? You may need a little more air movement directed over the top of your planting container to help lower the dampness of your soil surface after waterings, this also speeds up the plants transpiration of water and will help promote more growth in your plant in many cases. Hope this helps. - Rockhopper

Edit- Should have asked, Are you 2-3 weeks in from seed? from clone? or did you mean 2-3 weeks in on 12/12 flowering?. If these are small seedling or clones then don't let this 50% mixture get on the plants, just spray the soil. If these are mature plants then the spray can be used on vegetation also.

Hey, Thanks for the reply!
So far they are 2-3 weeks from seed. Its funny that you bring up air circ because Im growing in my closet with a fan on them, but usually never have the door open. I just have the fan blowing on them far enough that the fan doesnt blow them down or anything. Usual temps reach 80`-85`. RH usually stays around 55-60%, but has been dropping since I havent watered my plants to let that stuff dry out.
Right now Im having to water, it seems every other day. When I test the soil with my finger its not as moist 6'-8' down so I'll whip up some pH water and wait until the bottom holes starts to drip a little.
