I could be wrong but from what I gather the more light a plant needs the more fingers it produces, in flowering leaves tend to yellow and die off so taking this into consideration maybe its a combo of not needing all the light you are giving it and the natural flowering process.

have a read thru the growfaq too.

Leaves only tend to yellow and die nearing the last 2 weeks of its flowering cycle. hes just past week4 so yeah. You cant give a plant to much light. you can create too much heat from the lights and that can be harmful, but there is no such thing as too much light. I think its just a phenotype. but what do i know.

I do not agree with billybob on this, lightbleaching is caused by to much light intensity not heat stress. Picture your fan leafs as solar panels, they do have a limit on what they can process, when we exceed that we start to cause damage to the leaf.

As to the lesser leafs, I think the above poster is correct, they will produce less 'solar panels' depending on need.

I would go with what billybob said in his firs post, if the plant looks happy, all is ok.

Good luck mate!

so what, one of my blueberries is producing sets of 3's ive seen many blueberries do this. too much light? shut off one of my 600s? i think not. i have 5500 lumens per sq foot. the sun produces 10,000 lumens per sq foot. i dont see any lightbleaching on plants outside.

The sun doesn't produce 100000 lumens on the same spot all day, it moves across the canopy

Heat stress causes the leafs to curl away from the heat

i honestly dont think u can have too much light. ive never heard of this lightbleaching thing you speak of. and the sun doesnt produce 100,000 lumens per sq foot. its 10,000. If to much light was a problem, why would they make 1000 watt hps's and why would people use them in 5x5 area to achieve 7200 lumens per sq foot and not have one "lightbleaching" problem. i mean it just doesnt. how long have u been growing unity.

I know the sun doesn't produce 100000 lumens, typo! It's my first grow, I'm a noob
But I can read and hold a conversation. So between my Hydro shop owner (10years of experience) Earl and others that I have to come to respect I posted what they have told me. I use a 600 hps have no signs of heat stress, but do have some light bleaching at the top of my canopy. From what I'm told, there can be too much light intensity if the exposure is constant, or just think of a seedling, you throw a 1000hps over it and bam you got a dead seedling (and that's not heat related)

Maybe I'm wrong, but then I wouldn't be the only one! I won't know for sure until I get some more years of growing under my belt, lol. In the end I do not mean to start a pissing contest mate!!! Only trying to share what I learn when it makes sense to me
