aussie indoor grow having problems!

hi everyone, i am an aussie grower and am having some problem with my first grow.

I have set up a simple little cupboard grow room, first i knocked up a centre wall for my cupboard so i could still use half of it for shelving and to make sure t isnt that noticeable i still have some clothing in one side, the other half i have opened up so it is full height of the cupboard and half width, i have a half cut polystyrene box with 9 plants sitting in it all in seperate pots, i have no reflect sheets in my cupboard and only 1 white wall but i have a full length mirror inside it on the side that gets less light, i have a 200 watt integral ballasted light that i believe would be sufficient for the whole grow including flowering, my first problem i ran into was i didnt have enough time to set my light as low as it should be so my plants were stretching out so i tipped them at 4th nodes and have done that every time i see another 2 nodes present so i am keeping them at 4 nodes high, i have just been able 2 lower my light to the plants yesterday and have tipped atleast 3 times so far and just started lst yesterday also, i am currently buying some emergency blan because nkets of the net and was wondering what site was cheapest(remember i live in australia), the next problem i ran into was i noticed my leaf tip going yelow and 2 have gone brown, it is only the very tip but im unsure as to what is causing the problem, i have them in a normal soil i aquired from deep in the earth under my massive old as compost pile in back yard it should be quite high in nitrogen because i only seem to have problems arising in last week and they are over 2 months old, i am unsure of strain but i know they are a sativa because they are real quick to shoot up and stems are very elongated, i noticed one of my plants is stunted and under examination of watering noticed bugs in soil so i gave it a good flush with water and ended up with bugs flying and jumping all through grow room, i have some bates solution spray which is supposed 2 fix this problem but dont know if its safe 2 use?, i am really baked right now and cant think of anything else as of yet but here are my photos and any help or comments would be greatly appreciated thanx.

Allrighty mate found ya.
Wow you got a lot going on there under very little light.
Sounds like fungus gnats which aren't unusual, they're fucking everywhere.
Try a soil drench with neem oil, every 5 days for 3 weeks will help with the gnats.
The lower leaves could just be light starved kinda hard to tell.
I would use a balanced fert like 3-3-3 or 5-5-5 or 10-10-10 easier to control that way.
Other than being light starved they actually look ok,I'd flower immediately if yer not gonna get bigger lights.

You might have more success if you had a bigger grow area...I think it's too many plants for that area and one light...They are already crowding and you haven't started flowering. LST might be an option to train them into an even canopy so the light can be lowered.

Hey there, cool to see you started a journal. I had the fungas gnats, you can also use a glass of wine and yellow stickies to trap the adults, and a mix of 1 parts h202, to 4 parts water will kill all larvae in your pot, well that is what I ended up doing, and it worked, the plant has been thriving since treating with h202.

Is there any way you could get another light in there, it would probably help alot, and the cfl's are cheap to run.
