DEFORMED NEW GROWTH!!! PLEASE HELP! +rep

The newest growth on my plant has come in deformed and oddly shaped. One of the leaves is normal but its twin leaf is short, misshapen, and deformed. The leaf looks like it was bitten in half but it just grew in this way. The rest of the plant appears perfectly green and healthy. Could this be a ph and/or nutrient problem or maybe just a genetic mutation. Any help/advice will be well appreciated.

Post some pics if you can. What kind of lights, grow medium, nutes ect... are you using? Whats your Ph? How far along are yyou? SOmetimes unstable Ph can cause new growth to twist and curl into deformed new growth.. could be a lot of different problems, more info/pics would help the diagnosis.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Ima try n get sum pics up soon but the main problem is I dont have a ph tester yet. I have 4 plants under 6 26 watt daylight cfls. The furthest along is the one with the deformity and it is 11 days along now. Other than the deformity in the newest leaf it has been doing surprisingly well and growing vigorously. 2 others have not been doing as well since I transplanted them from 1 big pot to 2 medium pots. One of them appears to have yellowing new growth and the other has brown streaks on its first and second sets of leaves and the new growth appears discolored and the leaf tips are slightly curled. I am using roots organics soil btw and have not added any additional nutes. Watering daily with a few tbsps of filtered water unsure of ph.

Here are some pics. This is my first grow so any helpful advice would be great.

pic 1 is a close up of one of the leaves with brown streaks. This plant is doing the worst. 7 days old. pics 3,4,and 5 are additional photos of this plant.
pic 2 is my biggest plant with the deformed leaf. 11 days old. pic 9 is a close up of the deformed leaf.
pics 6, 10, and 11 are of my grow setup.
pic 7 is of my plant that is doing ok. 7 days old. new leaves seem to be yellowing.
pic 8 is the baby of the family. 1 day old. She seems to be doing good so far.

Are you adding nutes??

Too young for nutes. Just go with good pH'd water for a few days, preferably Reverse Osmosis and not tap. Lights are a little weak too, but you should see some progress with the water change.

I just took a look at your setup. How about placing them closer together in a four-square formation with a light over each and the other two facing down at a 45 degree angle..Just a thought, I think it would create more needed light as alot of the light is being wasted.

EDIT: Black absorbs light, try to find a white floor covering.

Haven't been adding nutes cuz like budmizer said I think they are too young. I've been using reverse osmosis water but I won't know the ph til my tester comes in the mail. Should I worry about the deformed leaf and the brown streaks or will I be ok til the ph tester comes. Can anyone tell if the ph is too acidic or alkaline by the pics?

check the edge of the leaf, if it is round and green all the way then no problem, its just one of those things. If it look slike it has been ripped off then it might be something eating it, cats or whatever or you may have tore it sometime as an accident.

Im not sure if you can tell the pH by looking at it. Do you have pH up/down? Using RO, im guessing you need to go up a little, I would add one drop of pH up into a couple gallons of water. Otherwise, hang in there, the growth will be stunted till you get the tester but they will most likely pull through.

They do not look too bad though. Probably stunted growth from the stress of the transfer. Correct the pH, get rid of the black floor covering, and move the lights and plants closer together.

Thanks budmizer I'm puttin a white sheet down now. That formation is a good idea I might just give it a try but do you think I have enuf light for veg ima get 12 more 2700 k 23 wat bulbs for flower. I'm planning on vegging for anothr 2 weeks or so.

and basically it's nothing that time and a few watering frequency fine tuning/adjustments here and there won't fix. And the mis-shapen leaf is simply the result of a genetic deformation that will have no bearing on the plant (other than that one mis-shapen leaf, so I guess it's future as a model is out).

Just sprayed with a lil neem oil n sum silicon. Hope this helps.

I do not know much about CFL lights. From what I have heard, you should be using 42w 6500k for veg and the 23w 2700k for flowering. You plan on getting 12 more 2700k's, so 18 overall? I would just stick 8-10 2700k's and try to replace the current lights with 6500k's in the veg asap. Should be plenty of light for some good homegrown buds.

neem oil, thought that was for bugs. I don't think you have a bug problem and I dont see any deformities. You'll be fine, work on the light. Get the pH/ppm meter and feed your babies after the light problem is solved.

I do have 6500k bulbs for vegging but they are only 26 watts. I figure if I keep all these and add 12 23 watt 2700k bulbs with reflectors I shood have plenty of light for flower and some huge buds. I'm also gonna get dual light splitters to conserve space. i just switched my set up to the four square configuration you described to conserve light and put a white sheet down. Hopefully this will be enuf to get em thru veg and I'll post sum more pics soon. Does anyone know what those brown streaks could be yet and why the new leaf tips are pointing down on 1 of the plants?

Possible Potassium (K) deficiency. Throw those 6500k bulbs in and get the water pH'd, feed them soon.
