6wk flower, leaves and stems turning red fast, should i be worried? '+PICS

Yeah, I know theyre probably too small but I was afraid of repotting them during flowering, so I just took a chance on leaving them as they are. Dunno about the roots, dont see them sticking out from the bottom of the pots, but then again - i have a layer of just perlite on the bottom so maybe thats why I cant see them.

Unfortunately for me(or/and my plants) i started reading stuff a bit too late and made many mistakes along the way. As for the possible ruining of crop, are too small pots really that serious issue?

well flowering or vegging - it makes no difference if your roots are rotting or are bound up - the plants could eventually die. I'm not saying that's your exact problem because I don't know your PH and all the other factors.... but root rot or bounding is a serious issue. If your plant's growth has slowed or stopped, its usually because the plant is trying to repair the root system. Anyone else feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong - I'm still kind of new here.

yeah man thats deffinatly normal towards the end of flowering. you can stop this next time though. when the leaves start turning yellowe hit em with a dose or two of your vegging nuits. during flowering nitrogen isn't as important as the flowering nuits. most flowering nuits have reduced levels of nitrogen so this tends to happen. simple to fix tho. future refrence for ya. and its too late to fix it now once the leaves start turning that brown color thier already done. you gotta catch em when they are just turning yellow. looks nice though.

Thx again guys, I guess lesson learned for the next grow. As for the roots - how do I know if the plant is rootbound? Should i just pull it out of the pot and check? Like I said roots are not really visible at the bottom. The plants stopped growing some time ago but since buds were developing nicely I assumed that theyre just done growing/stretching.

The plants stop growing around the 4th week of flowering. Have you flushed the plants at all during their growth? You mention never watering with plain water and salt buildup can contribute to leaf deterioration.

But like the experienced people here have said, it is normal to one degree or another and you shouldnt start taking drastic measures.

They look fine, thier near finishing and doing well, no worrys. Those leaves are feeding your buds and thats why thier turning like that, dying from the tips inwards. They look Great!!

I did kinda "little flush" and been giving them plain water since. Should I carry on with just water until harvest?

id wait till 7.5 to 8 wks if ure plant is 9weeker

i think u should stick with plain water for the final week. and the leaves dying is completely natural. the budding cycle completes as the plant prepares for death. so i don't know why (or at least i don't agree with) people adding nitrogen late into the flowering cycle. i've also read that plants that hold onto their nitrogen often tend to have a harsher smoke. i'm still relatively new to this with only a couple of grows under my belt so take this for what its worth.

Well I cant really tell how far away they are(noob) but I dont think I will have any of it for xmas :/ The breeder says flowering time is 50-65 days and theyre at day 46 from switch to 12/12 so now I dont know whether i should go back to giving them some nutes or just carry on with plain water?? I took some pics today, first two are the small lower colas and next two are the main ones:


How far away would you say they are? Like i said earlier trichs are roughly 60/30/10% clear/milky/amber. And what about those nutes? Give em or just stick with plain water?

looks like nute lockout prob to high ph (get a descent phmeter) .Give them a proper flush then nothing after that(except necessary waterings), I wouldnt do anything like re-potting, plants take up to 2 weeks stress recovery from re-potting and this will stall final bud development.

Umm... he is only feeding them water right now anyway...

I dont know whether i should go back to giving them some nutes or just carry on with plain water??

I'm going to bet that you'll make it to harvest just fine without adding any nutes at this point. The plant always protects it buds, as it's the most vital part for reproduction. All of your fan leaves and many of the larger sugar leaves will turn color and slowly die while the plant uses their stored energy to make more buds. As long as the bud and small leaves are healthy and green, let it go. You'll just be trimming off the other stuff anyway.

Don't trim anything until the plant is ready for harvest! It needs those red leaves you've been cutting for energy. You'll know when the leaves are done being used because they'll fall off at the lightest touch.

Yes, turning the pot upside down and sliding the plant out will let you peek at the roots.
Don't do it if you feel the plant is not developing roots well, because you can damage weak root systems by yanking them out of wet soil stuck in the pot.
This will help you see if they are white and fuzzy, and how close to rootbound they are.

Thx man, I guess ill stick with just water then, and I was only trimming the 100% dry dead parts as I assumed theres nothing left in them but they still shaded the buds below.

Thx for the tip but I guess i will save it for next time, I dont want to screw up my first grow just before harvest ;] At least now i know it can be done that way.

Easy with that nitpicking ;]]]

Just watered the plants and discovered some tiny, white-ish fast moving bugs in the soil. Cant see any on the actual plant but still I am gutted :/
