Good morning.
first timer here, fist post too.

here is the deal.

Bagseed, 5 weeks old today, 20''-22'' under a 400w hps. tried a little LST for some practice.

in a 3 gal growbag, with FFOF, has not been fertilized at all. Transplanted once from starter pot at about 2-3 weeks old.

They seem to need watering every 3-4 days, i check the weight before adding water. I'm pretty sure i am not over watering, but nervous that i am.

Watered with tap water that was about 7.5 ph for first week until i learned more about ph and started using distilled water ph'd to about 6.4 . Runoff ph after watering comes out the same as the ph of the water that is used. Not sure if im doing it right. I check my waters ph, water plant, catch first drops, and test. Comes out same as it went in. I cant afford a Digital tester at the moment, so im using an aquarium test kit.

temps are 80-84 lights on, 70-73 lights off. humidity is 40%-45% .

the problem is the bottom sets of fan leaves are turning yellow, drooping and look like they are about to drop of. it has worked its way up to about the 3rd-4th node and is starting to worry me.

trying to figure out what the issue is, i came up with a few possible reasons.

nitrogen deficiency from either not fertilizing for 5 weeks, but i thought FFOF was good for 30 days veg. am i wrong to assume that transplanting in to the 3 gal growbag would extend the time i could get away without adding ferts?

Or possible neut lockout due to PH issues. i am confused on how to tell if the plant is asking for me to add N or is it telling me the N is locked out because the PH is off. The runoff reads 6.4-6.6 just like the water i add.

here are a few pics sorry for the HPS color wash out, i cut one of the leaves to get a better pic.

if i am missing any helpful info please let me know and i will do my best to provide it.CIMG3596.jpgCIMG3595.jpgCIMG3598.jpgCIMG3616.jpgCIMG3620.jpg

Sorry.. I am pretty new at this, but the leaves in your hand have 3 leaves or what ever you call them. Isn't there supposed to be 5 or 7 leaves?

Grumble.. this is going to end up being a stupid questions & people are going to yell at me.. Sniff..

I DONT WANT TO CRY ANYMORE!! :)

hehe.

its the set of leaves from the 2nd node witch are usually 3 blades i think.

up top on the newer growth it has 9 blades on most and 11 on a few.

lol yea 3 blades is normal i have seen anywhere from 3-12 blades. But anyway about the problem. This always happens to my bottom 2 nodes or so and i just pull the leaves off. never seemed to bother the plants much. your not over watering with every 3-4 days thats normal. just make sure at least the top inch of the soil is dry b4 watering. I would give them a little bit of nutes about 1/3 the recommended dose and see how they respond to that. But it could be from the high ph. when did it start to happen? you probably should be feeding them other than whats in the soil I would say just start feeding them and keep on doing as you are they should be fine. with a nutrient def. the leaves start to lose some or all of their stiffness along with discoloring and or wilting. good luck

i would say i noticed it happening about 7 days ago on the first node, and yesterday up on the second.

i am going to switch to 12/12 in 2-3 days ( forgot to mention that they were still on 18/6 sorry ), would just using Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom be ok, or should i give it a dose of Grow Big before switching to 12/12 ?

thanks for the help :D

Check out the feeding schedule here:

www.foxfarmfertilizer.com

And yes you do want to give it a dose of grow big before flowering. I've had good results following the schedule. I use half of what they recommend for most strains. The full dose seemed to be too much for my grape apes, g-bombs, and mk-ultras but seems fine for my lavenders.
