Default worried about my babys
so i have 2 babys that are about two weeks old, and their cytoladons are now completely yellow and a little brown, and they only have two leaves so far, and they are curling down, i water about every 3 or 4 days, using a cactus soil, ive started upping the CO2, but the main leaves dont seem to being yellowing, but i dont see much growth either, i dont know if i should be worried being that they dont look to bad, but id like to fix the problem if at all possible, any suggestion? its my first grow and ive spent hours upon hours trying to see whats wrong, no pics yet, but just as soon as i get my camera working ill update, please help, or ease my mind, thanks guys

hi dannyboy1012 - it is pretty normal for the cotyledons to wither and die. The leaves curling down is a bit of a concern - could mean a nutrient problem but more likely over/under watering. But it sounds like the new growth is green and doing well. And if new growth is looking good chances are your plant will be fine.

just keep an eye on it and try not to worry too much

same exact problem as you. same exact. about 2 or 3 weeks old, mine has 4 leave instead of 2 and mine have 2 more coming in.

My embryonic leaves are yellow and my fan leaves started curling... I just went to the shop and bought some nutes. Ionic grow to be exact and now.... my embryonic leaves are still yellow but my fan leaves are bigger... and still a bit droopy (not as much as before)... but bigger lol

Default ok well heres some pics
alright guys well i got some pics, the soil im using is organic with nothing else mixed in, and my water level here should be pretty close to neutral, just being that were i live we have very very good water, like 2nd or third best in the nation, ive been cutting back on watering since i thought that might be the problem, i water about every fourth day, or when the soil looks dry on top, ive started using a stray bottle now too, anyways here the pics, i got a few other plants that i just planted about a week ago and they seem to be doing just fine, but they are a different strand, but other than that ive been treating them exactly the same, so idk......
oh and my camera sucks so the pics arent great but its all i got

Here is why plants need CO2 (not just during flowering but their whole life cycle). this is copied and pasted from something i am working on...

All green plants use light, water, and carbon dioxide (CO2) to create simple carbohydrates. These carbohydrates, along with nutrients absorbed through the roots, work together to create energy-rich food for the plant. This process is called photosynthesis and all green plants, from roses to redwoods, use this process to survive. It is important to understand this as it explains what makes light so important.

The breaking down of the carbohydrates created during photosynthesis is achieved through the respiration process. Without this process, plants would not be able to break down the carbohydrates into useful food energy in order to grow and repair itself. Knowing this, we can then understand why fresh air and ventilation is one of the key elements for a successful garden.

Knowing the respiration process of plants, we already know the importance of fresh air. But to drive the point home, consider this: there is only 0.3% CO2 in air! That means plants need a lot of fresh air to thrive. In fact, a fresh supply of CO2 is so important that some growers inject CO2 into their systems.

Default some more on my babys
alright yes the cups have plenty of holes i made sure to do that b4 i planted
the only thing i can think is that maybe the florescent lights im using arent enough, i got two 4' daylight florescents about 2 1/2 to 3 inches overhead, then i have another daylight florescent 18 inch on the side, with a big mirror behind, a couple days ago i tried out the yeast and sugar method in a bottle to put out CO2, and started using a spray bottle for watering, along with watering aobut every 3 or 4 days, idk i havent noticed any growth in about a week now, so my best guess would be either i need some nutes diluted at around 1/20 or 1/30 or maybe i just need to invest in a better light, im using my closet thats a decent size (idk probably 7 or 8 feet by 6 feet) so i dont have much ventelation, i planted the ones in the pic on halloween so idk what the deal is, thx guys for the help, i havent used any nutes or anything, just water, and the soil drains very well, they started off strong and looked great, im just not seeing a lot of growth, it kinda looked like the ends of the main leaves might be a little brown at the tips underneath, im gonna work on getting a metal halide light, but my budget is tight right now, ive spent hours on here trying to figure out whats wrong and i just cant seem to figure it out, ill keep yall updated daily, just keep the help coming in, its more than appreciated!!!
