today i came back to my plants that are setup in my garage in a wooden box.. (fairly secure) and i noticed it had tiny spider webs overr it ..
i looked inside the box and noticed 2 tiny spiders ?.. which looks like spidermites im not too sure.. i quiclky sprayed my plants and then rubed them gently ..

is there anything else i should or can do to help 'her' & is there anyway of preventing them from getting to my plants again . should i make a grren house structure to go around my plants to help them getting in ?

Neem oil works but don't use too far into flowering...........I take them to the tub and rinse the underside of all the leaves......lower my temps and get the humidity high.........but you'll probably won't get all the eggs and they will hatch as soon as the conditions are right again......or when you handle your plants eggs fall..........it's a bitch once you get them......best way to keep them off your plants is to keep your plants super healthy

my temp in there at the moment is about 20-15 celcuis ... and humidity is around 70% ... are your plants more likley to get them if its unhealthy or was i just unlucky ?

Plant vitality plus, 50ml concentrate

Plant vitality plus is the most effective spider mite killer we have used, it also kills the eggs and larvae....all dead within minutes! and it also stops them returning, 1 spray is all that is often needed.

This 50ml concentrate make 2 litres of full strength spray.

Plant vitality plus is a bio degradable product which can be used up to 6 hours before harvest

Acts as an anti stress agent as well for increased plant vitality

How do your plants look? Do you see white specks on the leaves? If mites are making webs, they're very established, and you should see some leaf damage. What kind of webs? Were they smallish; mainly covering the leaves? Or were they big; going across branches? A garage does seem a likely place to get real spiders. Hopefully that's all you have.

If you're in veg (or just starting flower), I'd just throw a Hotshot No Pest Strip in your box. With your plant being in a smallish, contained space (a box), it should work very well. Leave it in there for a couple of weeks if possible just to be safe. There are other ways, but NPS are super easy, and should work great in your situation.

if i got some, would i be able to spray it on my plants without actually having mites , just to prevent them from getting there in the first place?

If they are spinning webs....you might have the beginning of an infestation...take a careful look under all the leaves and look for tiny blackish redish tiny specks.........it is important or you will be devastated in a few days.......they breed, lay eggs, and withing days they hatch ,and within days those breed and lays eggs...over and over.......check for white little specks on the top of the leaves also......to me it sounds like spider mites but I could be wrong.....ohh and about the black on the leaves......did your plants ever grow into the light?????that could of caused that/

Little trails of webs over leaves sure sounds like mites. If they're making webs, then they're established. Are you seeing any little white specks on the leaves (where the mites sort of suck the sap out of little spots on the leaves)? Do you have pics?

I've never used that Vitality, but plants actually seem to like neem... when I'm not being my lazy self I try to do some neem spraying occasionally just as a preventative.

You can get a little hand-held microscope at Radio Shack for around $12. If you look around the bottoms of your leaves with it you should be able to see mites and their eggs.

If you do have them, don't expect to be able to spray something once and be rid of them. When I first started out, I had a long struggle with mites, and I tried a ton of different things. The fuckers kept coming back. Eventually I discovered that it wasn't about what I was using, it was how I used it. Most sprays (even really toxic ones) will leave viable eggs. You'll kill the mites, think you're all clear, and a week later - there they are again. You'll need to thoroughly spray your plants every three days, a total of four or five times to be sure you get any little hatchlings that pop up.

Like I said before, with your plant in a small contained area, you're a perfect candidate for Hotshot No Pest Strips. Just set one in there, and take it back out in a couple of weeks. That should be it.

when i found spider mites the one and only time I've had them thus far, i found a really easy way to check the plants for them. If you can fit a piece of plain white copier paper under your plant and give it a gentle shake, then without tipping the paper check for SMALL black dots or any very small little buggies walking around (magnifying glass helps). As for the blackish edge, only time i saw that was when i got the ladies a little to close to a doctor doom bomb.

For spider mites use predators, if your grow room doesn't accommodate the predators the next best thing is Abamectin if you can find it.
Neem oil is ok but does little to the eggs & the mites eventually adapt to it.

If you cant find Abamectin, ( you cant buy it here unless you have proper license) then Harka mectin is just as good & a lot easier to find.

http://www.amazinganimal.co.uk/harkers-harkamectin-5ml-p-23158.html

1/4 ml per Liter will smash the living fuck out of any mite infestation.

Get Avid.....one time application usually does the trick...you only need a small amount 6-7 drops per 32 oz of water...also add 4-5 drops of a liquid soap as a spreader

Avid can be bought on ebay in 1/2 oz - 1 oz bottles for like $10-20

Spray the bottoms.... then the tops of your leaves.....kills mites.. destroys their central nervous system and makes them sterile

Avid is a translocated...systemic...pesticide with a 21-30 day residual effect...dont use this if your in flower with less than a month to finish

You can also use Floramite but that stuff has a smell

i saw a mite on a plant one time, i tried to pinch it in my fingers and kill it. took the plant i saw it on and removed it from the grow area. i sat there and made sure there wasnt any more. after the coast was clear and i put a couple big spiders (eat the mites) and put the plant back in the room. i havnt seen another one. you do seem to have it pretty bad, but try and get some lady bugs/spiders or other predatory bugs to keep mites down. if its in your garage im sure you wouldnt mind a couple bugs walking around and eating your problems. ive always been a fan of ladybugs myself.

Ya but doesnt require a licenses to purchase ...on ebay
After some reading it should need a licence, it has other systemic insecticide's in this stuff giving it too long a half life for weed & there is talk that it can become an immune suppressant when ingested by people who suffer from cancer & aids, ie Medical marijuana.

http://biocontrol.ucdavis.edu/documents/Avid_000.pdf

Abamectin degrades in 7 days, so does Ivermectin, the active ingredient in Harka Mectin so you could use them safely into late flower.
