Azamax & spidermites!!

I'm having a war with spidermites right now. I'm making progress but I can't seem to completly get rid of them. I'm using Azamax and was hoping to get some feedback on someone who has used that specific brand, but anything is cool to.

Here's a breakdown of what I've done so far.
1) Discovered the bugs. They were pretty much all over the plant, but the plant was JUST showing damage. The plants were about 2 weeks into flower mode.
2) I ordered my Azamax and went and got some Ivory dish soap and gave them a sponge bath with recommended mix of Ivory/water. About an hour sponged it again with water and new sponge. It seemed to get rid of them for about 4 days and then they were back.
3) Azamax arrived and I mixed up the LEAST potent concotion they recommended and sprayed them down. Got some good results. Counldn't find any bgs for almost a week and they came back, but in lesser quantities.
4) Mixed another concotion of the least potent mix, sprayed... next day no bugs... 3 days later bugs...
5) Got pissed, mixed the MOST potent blend of Azamax/water they recommend and sprayed them down.
6) about 6 days later I got bugs again. Now it seems like they are getting higher and higher on the leaves of the plants.

Any suggestions?

I'm getting sick of squishing these little F@#^&*s...

Thanks in advance!!!

Continual application of azamax is going to leave you with a super-resistant colony, especially if you keep upping the dose. Think evolution; only the strong survive and unless you get them all and their eggs, you're breeding a better pest. Try another solution now such as Neem oil, tobacco juice, or just the soapy water

I have some Neem Oil in the mail, ETA prolly wed. Guess I could try to sponge them with Ivory again... it DID get a lot off the plants.

Yes, you shouldn't repeat the same treatment more than twice in a grow. You need to alternate controls or your mites will become invulnerable to Azamax. They are amazing creatures.

They were two weeks into flower when you found the bugs. How far along are you now? Buds obviously limit the choices you have on how to treat them.

Newgrowth has a thread here on spidermites that summarizes all the available treatments. read that.

a little ISO alcohol in a mister works too.

I used floramite in veg one application and it eliminated them. It has a 21 day residual effect, so it keeps killing them as the eggs hatch. It's pretty spendy though.

I'd say they are about 4.5 weeks now...

This is my first grow, so I thought "Wow, those buds look pretty big and tasty, maybe I should just harvest it now and start over"... then I picked a fat nug and trimmed it and let it dry. Damn, it srivelled up to about nothing. What looked like a fat 2 gram bud dried up to abot half a bowl in a regular pipe. BUT it tasted damn good and got me pretty baked. But I know they are not done yet :)

i am using azamax for the first time i'm a colorado medical grower and its dry here and i'm always getting new strains to try so spidermites are a reality i have to deal with i've done it all from changing clothes when entering the garden a sub room before the entrance with a blower fan to blow you 8) i use floramite, mite rid,dr. doom foggers,avid,forbid,sm-90,and pretty much anything else you can name the bottom line is if one thing doesnt work another will organics are good when avid, floramite, forbid ect. fail the best i have used so far is mite rid its good for two apps then they will get immune to it i have had avid fail floramite fail forbid even 50% alcohol and water failed me before azamax is the same it works for a bit then they will get immune to it so try to get all of them in one app is always the best bet i spray with avid or floramite the day they go into bloom and spray with an organic like azamax or mite rid right before they begin to flower so even if you get them it will be at the very end of bloom and it wont be a big problem but i always treat the room as well i have large 8x10 grow tents with zipper doors so i always put a fogger in the room after treating the plants or they will come back i always here poeple arguing about trearments organic vs chemical vs home remedy and really all work to some extent but all will fail you if you fail to kill all of them they will build up a resistance to anything so always remember if possible treat the grow area and if you can afford it get avid or floramite and an organic as well avid floramite ect. should only be used in veg and if pre treated before bloom almost alway assures a smooth bloom i act like i have mites when i dont and that method has served me well it isnt practical a small closet grow but if you are going to loose youre ass if youre harvest gets infested i would recommend the expensive stuff 300 isnt alot if you can save 50 or a hundred plants ya know and i grow for sick poeple so i cant spray them when there budding i have dehumidifier cause they cant have mold so remember rotate treatments so they dont get immune treat the room and treat plants before bloom if you live somewhere dry like i do

Colorado def sux for mites.Let me say it again, I've found that its not really what you spray it with its how you apply that shit , most of the products you can use in flower are nothing more than an oil thats gonna suffocate the little bastards. so , I got one of these.......atomist.jpg
great shit trust me, but you gotta use it. Personally I won't do edibles ever again having seen the spidermites I've seen here(I;ll surely smoke em but I wont' eat em), they're insane. but lets face it, IF you cover it with oil the little fuckers gonna die, for good coverage one of these works, get a speed control and some wet betty to help move the water at lower speed although you might void the warranty, throw in a little purespray and those fuckers are history.

Azamax says repeat every 15-30 days or so....? Azamaz is Neem oil made from the seeds and has a lot more it in then just Neem oil also works as a foliage spray and can be used all the way up until harvest!!!!! You start treament when they are seedlings or you treat the soil before planting and then every 15- 30 days after, it builds up in the plants.

How do you grow immune to being covered with oil and then dried?????? Its not like its an actual poison .How can you build tolerance to being suffocated??

Try Mighty Wash made by NPK, I have tried everything as well and they do get immune. Someone else mentioned it in another thread and there is a youtube vid as well. I just used some a couple of weeks ago and have not seen any mites. They are little bastards so just keep mixing it up.

Sounds like a wash after something like purespray, but I'd like to know how these things grow immune to being sprayed with oil which then dries and fucks them? it suffocates them? how do they grow tolerant to that?

Oils never get every single mite. They simply rebreed in rapid time.

if every single mite is sprayed it will, although thats a very hard thing to do the item I mentioned above gives you a pretty good advantage, my point was that its not what you spray its how you spray it.

Oh, I think it's what you spray far more. Anyway, unless you are growing one or two plants you'll never get them all.

Interestingly, this year I haven't got mites at all, although right now is their time. I started using Protekt last year, a silica supplement which is touted to strengthen cell walls and discourage piercing and sucking insects. It's also great for stabilizing pH in hydro which is mainly why I use it, but in any case, I have not seen mites since I started using it and I grow year round.

Hey im posting late to this thread on azamax cause i feel spidermite control is pretty damn important. Ive been using azamax for about 6 months on only 2 grows so far and ive had pretty good results. I usually soil drench more often then spraying. I feel like its probably a little bit of a better way to get bang for buck with the product but a few times in the last 5 days i sprayed my 2 outdoor plants.. they are getting a fair amount of young mites ide say like 20.. the plants are super lemon haze. only in about 3 gallon containers.. my backyard only recieves about 7 hours of direct sun so I can never really get really large plants. they all go into flower and seem to veg at the same time for about a month untill they go into full flower. I sprayed them last night with aza and sprayed them a couple days ago.. and today i soil drenched them with a decent amount of aza.. so im hoping for no more mite activity..There is probably a few more alive ones right now but im hoping for no more alive mites on those girls in about 3 or 4 days. I sprayed late into flower on this weird little plant i grew. (long story) . and i mostly made bho hash with that plant but i smoked about a gram of the lower bud right where i had sprayed..no bad tastes from what i could tell.. I would rather spray this product then some harsh chemical if u had to spray into flower furthermore this product is 20 dollars for a fair amount. I dont think this product is outrageously expensive like some people say it is but its not cheap either.. its relaly concentrate u shake the container it foams up. the smell isnt bad at all in my opinion smells harmless l. I had a couple mites and eggs on my indoor/outdoor plant as well. i sprayed it down and soil drenched as well.. I didnt bother scrubbing off any mites or eggs I want to see what this product will do.. I think the soil drench is more effective then spray but im using both at this point. if the aza dosnt work then I have a xclude pyrethrum fogger that I can use if i bring the plants indoor to my closet or something but thats a bitch. So really hopign the aza works. but if it dosnt i will most likely just fog them twice or thrice in the whole grow. cause i hear the fogger really slaps the shit out of them.. ive used aza on fungas gnats.. it worked on 2 out of 3 plants.. but i must say my growbox had really shitty exhaust back then.. ive improved exhaust. by about 5 x cause i got some money. . furthermore this product is 20 dollars for a fair amount. I dont think this product is outrageously expensive like some people say it is but its not cheap either.. its relaly concentrate u shake the container it foams up Plants havent burned yet from night time foliar spray. And ive given them high concentration of soil drench and no burns so im happy as far as that goes.. ok I will post back in a week or so to let u guys know how it kept the mites away.. its above 80 here coming into augest so those natsy little bastards are going to be after our smoke../ 1 more soil drench in a couple of days.. in a week im expecting no mites. ill let u guys know!

I have been having trouble with mites for a month now on my AO ...using azo max seems to work well for a few days when mixed dilute...dont mix to strong or it will fry your plants and cause you valuable time trust me first hand experience just spray medium strength an again four days later weather you are them or not even four days after use something else and something else after that.....the only way ....an if you can kill all of them who gives a shit keep them under control with neem or soaphas the hole plant upside down andburn the mofo's at harvest they will climb to the top of the plant so keep buds at bottom while drying....goodluck

You are doing okay but remember AZMAX is a special mix and with a special treatment procedure you win. Try this: Hold plant in pot so doesn't fall out, turn upside down all leaves fold up and cover the buds. Spray real good, get the stem, turn plant upright, spray soil and side of pot. Finally with a friendly Mr. Clean type cleaber do the floor around pot. Oh yeah, do this AZMAX procedure just before feeding as pots are dry and light. This is about as far as you can go bud. Repeat as necessary. Never let the plants touch and these bikers to party have to really travel.

I'm having a war with spidermites right now. I'm making progress but I can't seem to completly get rid of them. I'm using Azamax and was hoping to get some feedback on someone who has used that specific brand, but anything is cool to.

I use NPK Industries "Mighty Wash". Spray on day one of treatment. Wait three days and spray again. (Top and bottom of leaves). Wait three days and spray once more. This should break the cycle and kill off the new bugs from the hatching eggs. I understand they are on a three day hatching cycle. I add the third application myself to be sure. Then apply weekly up until the week before harvest. It will take them a week to get established again. Harvest and dry. While drying if any are present they should leave the bud while drying. GL and happy growing.

I have a charlottes web female I have kept alive for two years by cloning and it has been a pain in ass with aphids and spiders. I have never seen spiders like I shook off today. They don't look like mites, they are bigger maybe 1/16" long. The plant is outside, alone and I do not want it in the greenhouse obviously. I am thinking of rigging a drench by putting a plastic bag over it to hold the loose soil in pot. I have a big pot I could mix up some azamax, neem, soap, water and dip the plant. Total immersion therapy. You can kill your plants with neem oil remember so don't make it too strong. In the greenhouse I have been mixing diatomaetious earth into my watering cans and wetting down the entire floor to kill the grasshoppers hopefully. I am in Colorado and it is hot and dry, the hoppers are all over like ten per square foot and about half an inch now. Totally decimated my beans out in garden. This is the biggest problem now. Anyone dealing with hoppers? When I open ghouse door several hop in. Walking through the grass sends up a wave of the little bastards on each side. Kind of eerie. Good luck to those growing outside near here. John
