Default brittle leaves-- Please help!! Rep^

So my babies are about a week and a half old and were growing great at first, yesterday, my leaves started curling a bit downward, sorry dont have a camera. They are also brittle to the touch and have actually torn a bit in a couple places, almost look a little shriveled. I water about every 2 to 3 days and have a 400 watt hps on them about a foot to 16 inches away. Can someone tell me what brittle leaves are a sign of please?? Oh, also some of the plants have turned to a light green color if that helps. They are growing kind of slow it seems. And I have not used nutes, they are in happy frog soil Thanks!

that 400 watt light is frying them and or drying out the soil how big are the pots. change to CFL's for the first 2-3 weeks.

yeah i think its ur light also.....keep it like 4ft away for seedling
if thats not the prob then id say ur soil is too hot

Water more often when the dirt is dry and move away the light like the others said

Pics are very helpful, how close is the fan if you are using one????

If the fan is to close to the plants it can dry the leaves out

Symptoms are close to what you are describing
