Question Slight troubles cloning, Next Generation Seeds Dynamite
I am currently in the middle of making several Dynamite clones off of seeds ordered through greenlifeseeds. I have had a lot of practice in cloning and always worked with 100% success rate in rooting a nice healthy clone. I use peat pellets and in a recent batch I had the longest wait on roots ever. In the wait a couple of them beganning turning up and browning in a way I had never seen before. Two of them rooted after 18 days! Longest ever in my career. Any ideas as to what this is? I should mention a couple of them were looking a little drained so I gave them just a few drops each of a settled half strength Earth Juice mix (grow, bloom, catalyst) and a few of them rooted soon after.

Well, I can tell you this with absolute certainty:

Every strain is different, and some strains clone better, faster, stronger, slower, weaker, etc. then others. Don't worry too much about them browning or yellowing as long as it is not at the node. I've had strains that look damn near dead waiting for roots for 18 days or more to where you almost give up. Don't give up.

My suggestion as far as browning is that it is usually a humidity issue. Some strains hate humidity when cloning (weird right) while others want it to be like its raining in Florida. Just play with little things like that and you'll find the right balance for your new strain.

If you got rot on the stem where the rroots should be then it was too wet, and maybe the temps were not warm enough. If you root in soil you cant have the soil too wet. And if in rockwool it should not be left in standing water. I hope that help sum.

Are those peat pellets wrapped in plastic wrap? or is that the netting that holds the peat pellet together?

Just the netting. I'm not worried so much about them as long as they manage to root. The first couple gave me struggles but all made it through as of now. They're also improving in time. The first two I took were off of early nodes, those took between 18 and 22 days. In the midst of that couple cloning I had one shoot some good roots out just 8 days in. So as far as that goes it looks like I need to find my optimal conditions for these little Dynamite babies. You may be right about the humidity wilson, if I do recall it was a dryer week for the one that rooted quickly, the first couple saw a lot more moisture so that could be a good clue. Cut 7 more last night...hoping for a quick batch this time..any more help is appreciated

So before the clones brown at all they start to turn a really white fleshy yellow right in the top node, then spread out slowly which both times resulted in the browning/curling in the leaves. The pictures included is the last one that did it badly. This one's had her struggles but did manage to root and is finally taking in soil after a little stunting. This is also prior to being cleaned up (i cut the tips of the leaves which had browned and curled up). Any Ideas?
