Question Help, Plants growing too tall, and not developing??
hello, i am a newbie, and the problem with my plants is that they keep growing vertically and do not develop, i kept playing with the lights because i thought this is due to the distance of the light, but as i read on this forum a lot of people have their lights higher then mine and their plants dont grow so tall. As you se in the pictures the leaves are small, and still at a young stage, please help, what am i doing wrong???

thanks in advance

...awe, nothing looks wrong to me so far. ...it takes a while when you start from seeds to get rapid growth sometimes...However, we maybe able to give you some tips for the future if you give some info on what your growing medium is, ferts and so forth.

...just looking at your pics, my first thought is...why don't you have any perlite in your medium?

Perlite makes the soil drain better and helps aerate the growing medium. If I were you I would transplant and bury those long stems up to just one inch from the first node. It looks like they are stretching for the light. If you are growing under flouros, you can get them 1" from the top of the canopy.

Looks like you are using CFLs for light. You have then too far`away. Get them within 2 inches of the plants. Perlite help the soil drain better.

Firstly, the intensity and color of your lights will have a lot to do with your problem. You cannot grow decent stocky plants with poor (shop) lights!!
Invest in proper grow lights and half of your problems would be gone. Secondly, you will only run into problems by planting multiple plants into one pot unless you have huge pots (they will kill eachother for root space). And I would also suggest getting your electric plugs and wiring off the floor where it could come into contact with water!

To start off on the right foot you need to do quite a bit of research on growing mj. Look under the FAQ on this forum there is tons of proper information. It's not all that hard to do well provided you do things properly.
Good luck

yea i think i should do that, buy some perlite then transplant them keeping just one inch from top out, thanks.

I have 2 lights for all the plants, the problem is if i have 4 pots, as you see in the pics i cannot get the lights closer because then i would be only above 2 pots and the rest are in the dark, the plants keep stretching and turning for the light

I didnt want to invest too much in this project because i am at the begining and i wanted to start of with what i already have. I read about all that are required, and i thought i would be able to do it with less, and i wanted to prove that :P i guess its a rough start but i will get there... i hope. thanks again for everything.

Stretching=plant trying to reach the light.
Get a CFL over each of those pots.
And get it about 2 inches above each plant top.
Making sure that your CFL's are daylight, or 6500 kelvin.
