Default Heat or Fert
Problem.jpg

First grow in about 25 years. I figure heat. It wouldn't be from lights. I lost all fans, cooling, lights, everything for about 12 hours and the room temp was at least 100 degrees. I'm in soil.

Heat Stress :
Look closely below, and you'll see the brown leaf edges that are indicative of heat stress. This damage looks alot like nutrient burn, except it occurs only at the tops of the plants closest to the lamps. There's only one cure for this...get the heat away from the plants, either by moving the lamps or moving the plants.

this is what they show as heat stress in the grow faq's

I had checked the sticky's before posting and saw the photo on Heat Stress. I really don't think it's the lights though. I had a good 24" from lights to tops with really good air circulation. Before I lost power, I hadn't seen the burnt edges. The room hit at least 100 degrees before I discovered the problem, maybe 110. It's been so many years since my last grow, I really couldn't say for sure if I'd get a burn like that just from room temperature of 100+ for 12 hours or was my feeding off too. Thanks for the input.

100+ degrees sounds like heat stress imo. I'm a new grower so correct me if I'm wrong but plants breathe, no? That's my best guess

stress starts at just over 85 degrees without co2, the signs of heat stress will show as damage at a higher temp , 110-115 for 12 hrs. i would say yes heat stress damage
