Gah.. I would have went with a different soil instead of MG but the problem is, no one in town sells soil pH testing kits, the closest place is 4 hours away and I really don't wanna drive that far and don't have a plastic to purchase one online and I would hate to get some soil and it have a really fucked up ph level and end up stressing my plants and killing them... any suggestions?
But if it was actually water spilled on the leaves would it seriously show up 2 days after watering? and within a time frame of 3am-3pm today? Because like I said, 3am this morning I went down to test moisture and It was literally fine, no spots or anything, then about 3pm today it suddenly appeared. Don't worry about ph testing kits - you don't need them for soil grows - unless your water's ph is way out of whack. You just need to get them into some decent compost - anything other than MG time release soil. Get another MG soil without the time release things. Seriously - you'll make life much easier for yourself. You could even just go through the soil inch by inch and take the little fert capsules out and continue using that soil when you repot. |

I do kinda have a side question, I believe its actually time to transplant seeing how a couple plants have roots trying to grow out of the drainage holes, however by transplanting them into some plain soil.. Walmart has some Hyponex soil thats just completely plain, am I going to need to get some fish emulsion and give it some nutrients being how the soil has none? or would I be safe without putting anything into it until the 3rd week?.. Around the 3rd week I've heard MG houseplant food (8-7-6) is actually a pretty good balance of food for vegetative growth.. Comments?
I wish I had access to better nutrients around here but there's actually nothing at all, the nursery here carries very very limited supply and the main stuff they carry is MG and Advanced Gardening or something like that.. Once my job starts kickin up I plan to get plastic to buy some respectable stuff but as of now I kinda have to do with what I have available to me offline. Thanks a million for any more advice. ![]() ![]()

I got one more picture of the plant, in a room with just regular lighting to show the true colors and then I got a picture of my 2nd oldest, seems the 2nd oldest is trying to turn yellow, not exactly sure what could be causing this? maybe nute burn? same as the oldest... the MG?

yes.. my ventilation is satisfactory, It sucks air from inside our house and down through the basement and then I have a huge blower hooked up to ductwork that is constantly on blowing air out the holes at ground level, the humidity levels are dropping daily because it's starting to dry up, although in vegetative stage as far as I've read humidity isn't really that big of a factor, It's more in the flowering stage you wanna watch it mainly because of bud mold..

man babygro harsh as ever although you are right. mg defiecency looks nothing like that, and nute burn from the soil would start at the tips of the leaves not in random spots like it is. i would have to say water spots but on his first post he said he saw "more black spots trying to form on the leaves above those" if those spots get worse then you can rule out water spots and look for another diagnosis. give us a report maybe tomorrow or the next day and see if those spots dont get worse

Well ever since babygro said it could possibly be water burn, I've really been leaning towards that more than anything because a few other leaves have little dots on them, and for some reason that leads me to believe that the water could have possibly splashed little particles onto the other leaves causing the little black dot spots..
I will definitely monitor it over the next few days and see what happens, Now I'm really trying to figure out why my second oldest plant looks like it's trying to turn yellow in areas |
