Dark Purple Leaves

I've got 4 plants - in soil - under a 400W HPS.

Over the last few weeks, 3 plants leaves have all turned a dark purple. It's not a nutrient deficiency, as I've been giving them a good fert with micro nutrients. It's also not the strain. Ones a White Widow, Ones Bubblegum, and the others a Orange Bud. The other which is fine is also a Bubblegum (a sister clone of the one turing purple)

They all look pretty healthy apart from being purple. So I don't really care - I'm more curious then anything about what it could be.

Oh yea, also the white hairs are turning orange from the bottom up. i.e all the buds at the bottom are dark orange, while the hairs on the main cola are still white as snow.

What are your lights off temperatures? Low lights off temperatures can cause plants to start showing the blue/purple pigment underneath the chlorophyll.

Erm yea - now you mention it I did find a bottle of water had frozen in my grow room one night. Might also explain why these are taking ages to mature.

Being purple doesn't seem to affect them that much apart from slowing things down. Check the one in my gallery. Coming along nicely, just taking it's time.

lol ok ok... if you found a bottle of water froze in your grow room that's not good at all man....
your lucky you didn't kill em if it's that cold...

true, if there's frost you gotta warm them somehow or harvest right now

this is happening to my plant too

this happens for 3 reasons


1. genetics
2. its pulling phosperous out of the leaves.
3. normal color for when its at its last life.. think of it like trees in the fall changing color
4. lack of phosperous(in this case if you are more then 3 weeks away from harvest)

Edit: also note that the stems on the fan leaves are a deep deep purple and have been for weeks...

no one? Please guys, help a brotha out! I'm in New England and the weather is getting cold fast, just wanna read what the plants are telling me. I can bring them inside to finish if needed, but if it's a nute issue I wanna to address that too.
