Exclamation could use experienced growers help to diagnose my plant
hey guys im new to all this, just on week 5 of my first attempt... i say attempt as im not expecting a perfect harvest first time through lol
ive tried reading and reading and re-reading the forums but i get mixed answers to my problem, im currently using a 125w envirolite and reflector with wilkinsons soil... i have an unknown indica strain i got in amongst sum green i bought a while back and i have a "purple haze female" or so my mate says but its definatly sativa in origin...
my problem is that after 5 weeks the leaf tips are going yellow, brown and slightly black, mostly all over on the indica plant (indica pics1,2&3) and it has red hairs on leaf stems and purple veins on main stalk (please bare with me i cant remember the proper names)
also on the "haze" i have red hairs appearing on leaf stems even tho they were a lovely light green when i first got it (at week 3-4 of veg) plus a few yellow spots appearing on a few leaves ( 1 has a tiny hole thru the yellow spot on it as shown in sativa pic3) and one leaf has a yellow curled tip (sativa pics 1&2)and im worried i might have bolloxed them up badly... basically i would like to know where im goin wrong before i lose my mind (and possibly my first bud lol) and if ne1 with alot of experience could help diagnose id be forever greatful...

i keep them both in my boiler room so temp is usually around 26*c - 30*c and humidity is quite low i would think, the soil dries out quickly so i water alittle everyday or 2 to try keep it from drying out.. i have recently started using liqiud tomato feed at the recommended dosage (at 3/4 day intervals) and think it may be simple nute burn, ive flushed both of them an hour ago just incase ( tho evry forum i checked say diff reasons: e.g. mg def, k def, p def, and so on and so on) but would prefer an experts opinion

please dont hate me i have tried reading for past week to sort out problem on my own but i now have to hold my hands up and say fuck it i cant figure out which problem i have...
thanks in advance to ne1 who has time to help me out

I am not seeing any great damage. In one of the pics the lower leaves look over watered. It also looks like you are running the nutes a little too hot. You may want to cut back to 1/2 the recommended dosage. Otherwise they are very vibrant and have good color. No worries, you have plenty of time to sort this out. Nothing wrong here that can't be fixed with minor corrections. Instead of checking the top of the soil to see if it is dry try lifting the pot. Water only when it feels like the pot is full of air and only feed the nutes every other week at 1/2 strength until this gets sorted out. Good luck with your grow.

oh my god dude that was a quick reply, thanks for the response..
i had bin told by the guy who gave me the sativa that his friend said prob over fed or over watered but i took it with a pinch of salt as hes never grown b4 either and tends to talk shit lol plus the constant warmth of the boiler i was sure it was drying it out faster than i could water it! Thanks again at least i have a huge weight off my shoulders now and can concentrate on nursing them back to health, on a side note tho do u know whether or not the affected leaves will go green again or will it just b the new growth that comes thru green? i owe u man peace..

In most cases the damaged leaves do not repair themselves. All the new growth should be healthy if you watch them closely. Glad to help, we all started somewhere. Good luck with your grow.

I agree with everything Little Tommy said, and would like to add that a bigger pot would benefit you greatly. Also you said you water every day or two?? I would recommend MORE water LESS often. Even in the small pot, if you water and its dry 2 days later....either you're in the desert or you didn't give it enough water two days ago. Overall...way to grow! Good luck!

cheers guys im off up town to look for a bigger pot and some guano.. heard it the shit for vegging!
glad ive not gone too far wrong, like i said i wasnt expecting much first time round but u 2 have gave me the advice i need to get them growing properly without lock up or worse thru miss diagnosis from myself...
again i owe u both and will post here as they progress..

thanks again, take it easy

*Edit*.....Just back from town i got 2 moisture lights (for £1 each from poundland) that have perfect size sticks and will tell me when pots r dry with a flashing l.e.d... Also repotted to 20cm pots not sure what volume but defo much bigger... just hope sativa doesnt grow huge as i dont have much room and think only 1 plant will prosper from the 125w light, may have to try get a bigger red spectrum for flowering as never seen a small cfl grow diary with pix on here

****on a breif sidenote tho, my plant has been transplanted now but i had to wet the top soil and the soil from the bag was damp... will this make my problem worse before it gets better??? just chonged and was thinkin about it for a second there*****

thanks again

hey again to any1 who can help, i havent watered my plants for a few days now and moisture testers working are fine.. tho my lowest 2 five finger sativa leaves are yellowing fast (i pruned the 3 fingers weeks ago) i am panicking now as i have now experience in growing (i have studied hard but find pros to be alot quicker and more helpful) one of them had a grey patch goin from the middle finger tip to part way up, it is the only one so far but like i say theyre yellowing all over slightly.. i read the grey patch is phosphorus def but also on my indica the original 5 &7 fingers leaves are going brown on the edge tips and sum r curling under (read it was under watering but had over watering prob few days ago????) will post pics up asap but need to take them first so ne theories or ideas would still be welcomed while im doing it

thanks in advance

take it easy

I don't think that pot is draining properly , that would lead to the over watering problem even if you were watering it only every now and then marijuana grows a pretty deep tap root so, so long as the water does not drain out of the pot properly you will get saturation even if the top soil appears dry when you water. The roots also like to breathe every now and then. She already looks large enough to be moving to the final pot. Most people reccommend a 5 gallon bucket drilled for drainage for that, but any fair sized pot will generally do.

Exclamation pix of leaves
heres pix i promised, sum show possible necrosis?? some show yellowing and one with a hole, others show curling of leaves on both plants and theres one of each plant as a whole....

... not sure how often plant is supposed to drop leaves but dont wanna make major changes until i know what im dealing with, on a side note tho i did ph on water it came up 7.2 i think (using colour chart) and when i mixed soil and water it came up 6.4?? would this make a serious difference? and i havent fed nutes as i didnt want to make overwatering/nute burn worse

thanks again in advance

oh just thought the really curled leaf was cut from the plant about 9 hours or more before the pic was taken and mystic i have large 20cm pots.. just transplanted to them last friday and im positive they are loosely packed enough for drainage.. the old pots used to drain evrytime i watered as they were only small but new pots have same holes and i made sure i loosely put soil in, tho i do appreciate u taking the time to help me out

take it easy
