Heya- First real-time question for you guys.
I 4 days ago, I placed a germinated feminized northern lights seed into a large pot of mushroom composte, peat moss, and perlite. I watered afterwards (I know now I should have watered prior to planting the seed), and yesterday when it busted ground. I've got 65w t5 bubls above it for now. One of the cotyledons is half yellow, and very small. The other is fine, and the first set of leaves seems pretty healthy. Another seed in the same conditions broke ground earlier, and is looking completely healthy. The third pot's seed did not sprout, I suspected something had gone awry and dug up the seed, the seed was split and had some green inside it but nothing was coming out. Only other thing that needs mentioning is that I did find an extremely tiny little bug crawling around in the soil, literally smaller than a pinpoint. I could barely see it. Any potential reasons why my cotyledon is stunted and yellow? Anything I should do to fix it? Thanks Last edited by Snak; 05-19-2009 at 01:07 AM.. |

Okay well heres the update-
This sprout with the yellow cotyledon started at the same time as another sprout in the same conditions without a yellow cotyledon. about 14 days later, the sprout with the yellow cotyledon is no more than 2 inches in heighth, and just now seems to have actually started growing (produced its first 3-set leaves). The other one that started off without the yellow cotyledon is doing pretty well I think, it has almost 6 nodes with the low ones showing a lot of active growth at the point where they connect to the main stalk. So I guess we'll find out how it continues to grow, but from my experience- If you sprout starts off with half of one of its cotyledons missing (or small) and yellow, be prepared for a VERY slow growing sprout. |
