First, I made a box:





I germed seeds in water with a tiny bit of superthrive and clonex. Everything sank nicely and cracked mostly in the first 24 hours.

Stuck them down in rockwool about 1/8th of an inch.

Within 3 days I had 6 seedlings poking their heads through.

Placed them in the cabinet with the floros - 4x 24 watt 2 foot long, 2000 lumes t5 bulbs. Moved them around 4 inches from the top of the plant.

Temps up to 85, humidity around 50.

Now the thing I've read hundreds of times it that one of the biggest mistakes newbies make is to over water. Well I certainly did not want to make a misteak. So I left the rockwool alone, always felt a little moist on the back of my finger but in reality, after not watering for 5 days, that shit got dry.

After some desperate googling, I decided that these plants were dead. Also read people saying that it is nearly impossible to overwater a plant in rockwool. So I soaked these plants in ph'd water and took these pics.
Decided to try propping them up because the stems appeared to start to fatten up shortly after being gave a drink. Maybe I am just in denial but I'll see what happens here. Anyone ever have luck bringing plants back from the dead?

theres almost dead and all the way dead... you can being back and almost dead plant.. you cant bring back a dead one... ive seen some miracles before.. plants that i almost pulled from the garden because they looked bad, but somehow they managed to come back bigger and better than before... marijuana is a weed.. and has amazing revitilization powers... the younger they are the harder is it to bring them back... its a good possibility that your seedlings are fried for good... but at the same time there is a chance they will come back... keep them a couple days and see what happens.. you'll know by then.. if they dont come back at least you'll know where you messed up... theres always another day...

Sorry for your loss man, hopefully at least a couple of those make it back. This is a good example though why people recommend using bagseed for your first grow or two. Unfortunately, you have wasted money sitting in that rockwool.

Thats my other opinion about this, if this is your first grow, why would you use rockwool? IMO you're better off using soil for your first grow untill you know more about what you're getting yourself into. Either way, good luck to ya man.

Yeah, I know. The seed banks sent me 25 mystery seeds to play with and I have 4.5 cubic feet of Fox Farm Ocean sitting here, but I'm just too damned smart to try anything the normal way, heh. After spending over a grand on lights meters nutes medium and whatever else looked cool there was no way I could fail, right? Send in the clones...

if those plants do make it you gotta lower your lights they look like they re stretching like crazy

So you think I should just skip the floros and put them under MH? Hypothetically, as if the plants were still green, that is. I had the t5's 3-4 inches from the tops before the 'incident', so maybe those bulbs are just too weak, I didn't want to cook them with my 400 watter until they grew some, but maybe I should have?

it wasnt a light problem... the floros put off plenty of light for a seedling... might have been a different story when you got to the veg cycle... but until you transplant your seedling into whatever pot your using to grow in the floros would have been more than fine...

ouch!!! just reading that hurt me too, lol. i feel your pain brother. once ya hit veg though imo their is almost nothing a 24/0 and a good flush can fix but i dont think you can save em w/it this early.
