Has anyone tried using Advantage or Frontline (designed for safe monthly flea/tick control for pets) on their plants if an insect problem occurs or to prevent spider mites? In theory, I would think it would work on almost any insect as the active chemical is similiar to nicotine in effect on invertebrates.

The only reason I can think it wouldn't work - Frontline and Advantage are designed to bond to oils found on hair (which it is highly persistant on)... not sure if it would wash away to fast to be effective on a plant. However, that could be gotten around by simply applying it to any hair clippings before spreading them around the plant.

If it worked, those monthly products would be great for people that can't visit their outdoor grows often...
