So....Here is the history.
I am using miracle grow time release potting soil. Yesterday I transplanted my seedlings ( about 4 inches tall) into...3 gallon?.... pots. I gave them both about 6 cups of water. Currently, the plants have the original round leaves, and two spiked leaves both a little over 2 CM long. Both of the spiked leaves are light green. I am using 42W CFL's, one for each plant, placed just a CM away from the leaves. I have a small fan in the closet for circulation. I dont know if it is a problem....but this morning when I woke up, the new little tiny leaves developing inside the first two spiked leaves (they are only about the size of a pencil lead right now) were browning on the edges. I cant take a picture of the tiny new developing leaves beacuse they are so small! I waqs wondering if anyone could know what the problem is. Could I have overwatered when I transplanted? Are the lights to close for how small the seedling still is? Also, my landlords were coming over today so I decided to give the plants 24 hours of continuous light yesterday in preperation for 12 hours of darkness in my cupboard today. Could this have hurt them? Or should I just wait? The two spiked leaves are both about 2 CM long and they are still green as ever, I'm just a lil worried that the new leaves trying to develop wont... Help out a worried mother? |

im not talking about the round leaves though....im talking about the new growth leaves coming out from the center on top of the first spiked leaves...those ones are supposed to thrive and create new sets!

oh wow! i see! that is a pretty big problem, ive heard miracle grow soil w/ferts are too strong and can cause it, get your light further away too. at this point it should probally be at least a inch away cuz they are still very sensitive to heat at this stage.
