Default Spider Mite Eggs? Respond!
So I just posted a thread and unfortunatly I am forced to post another. As my lights came on I did some inspection during feeding time and found a couple of tips begining to be wrapped in webs with what looks like eggs. I immediatly treated with a weak diluted miticide and a drop of dish soap and then rinsed very well later on. I also strapped on some gloves and physically removed everything I could find. Questions I have.....

1. Is tobacco mixture safe for spraying all over plants? Will it work?
2. Is this something I should rinse off hours later or the next day?
3. Will you give me some advice?

I know more of you will look at this, see no pictures and continue browsing but I'd really appreciate any feedback because it would truly help. And come on, helping is what its all about!
Thanks.

Hey bro

I hate the spidermite situations!

Here's what you should do

Clean up all the leaves including their UNDERSIDES! That's where the bastards like to be the most!

Wash with a very weak mix of soap.

After a long time of cleaning EACH plant you should disinfect the grow area. Just mix detol or some anti-biotic in water and wash the walls, floor, and corners off with a cloth. Make sure that your pots aren't directly on the floor, keep them under a tray or something.

Cheers

Thanks for input.

Well the confusion I am having is I am into the 6th week of flowering and thought there would be maintence but not a problem. Like I mentioned I rinsed the plants and tended to each of them but I know there are more of those little buggers around. I cleaned the room and the surrounding areas with a diluted mix of water, bleach, and soap.

So the plants are flowering and I really don't want to harm them. I bought neem oil and was thinking of using it at half-strength. It says safe up to day of harvest although I will not use it up to that day. More Questions....

1. Is it safe to use the neem oil at this point? Even at half strength? Or will it make the mites stronger?
2. If it is safe should I rinse it off a couple hours later?
3. Should I apply during the dark period or just use it not under the main light?

Hopefully someone can answer these questions for me. I have read other threads but I feel my problem is one of its own.
Thanks.

Have you considered lady bugs or praying matis? they should eat eggs and larvae most nurseries sell them and they are fairly easy to release and maintain.

Neem oil is good preventive measure early in flowering and veg but i heard it will leave a nasty taste if on your buds late in flowering also it dont kill eggs!
