Default First Relative Success But Needs Help with crispy edges
Hi Guys,

First up let me say thanks to this great forum... without tips from eveyone here I would have given up a long time ago.

I was one of the unfortunate newbies who happened to by an Off Gassing tent. I spent the better part of a year scouring the net for answers buying everything under the sun from the hydro shop in a desperate attemp to get past the seedling stage without my seedlings looking like they were eating themselves.

So eventually i replaced my tent, and this baby was the only one to make it out of that batch and she has done very very well since my new tent was purchased. She is two weeks into flowering, grown in flushed out COCO from day one using COCO nutrifield nutrients. She is sitting under a 400 watt light, about 11 inches away and the tent is temperature controlled by a portable air con flowing directly into it. Humidity sits at around 40-50%, temps never go above 80, usually sits around 75 and never goes below 60.

I am watering her with 2 litres of water every day. I do a 3 day cycle, day 1 is 1/2 strength nutrifield COCO nutrients (23-21-14), day two 1/2 strength ocean mist nutrients (2.5% nitrogen, 0.25% phosphate, 1.9% potash, 0.25% maganese, 0.23% zinc, 0.15% boron), day three is plain water.

I may have moved to half strength a little too early I noticed that the edges got a tiny bit burnt so I backed off for a week, however since flowering I have given her half strength and I have noticed little spots on a few leaves. For the most part all the new growth is nice and deep green, however the top of her is yellowing slightly and the tips as well look a little crispy on the end. The first time i noticed this is when i started giving her the ocean mist, and it did seem to help a little however she still seems to be yellowing and the spots are slowly growing.... One of the leaves the spots are quite bad and look rusty but I couldnt get a clear shot.

Any ideas guys?

Whats the pH of the runoff? Also if your in cocoa then thats hydro. Stick with one nute lineup (id use the canna) and flush every now and then. Mixing nutes *can* create reactions that make toxic salts.

The yellowing would make me think it needs N but its at the top mostly, so it could be light bleaching or a mobile element. Sulfur is known to make plant yellow at the top. If you decide its sulfur treat with epsom salt (get at walmart) which is Magnesium Sulfate.

They do look a burnt but just a little. Back off the amont of nutes, but it could be from mixing the nutes. Lamp

Have you checked for parasites or infestation? Look underneath the leaves and see how they look. It looks a bit like insect damage. I am not wishing that but you may want to check and get ahead of it if that is what it is.

some ideas there.... ocean mist is the same brand as the coco a&b and it pretty much has all the nutes that a&b doesnt.

If this is a deficiency I am struggling to think how.

it is not insects or mould everything is a ok.

is it because the nitrogen is too high for flowering?
