Default 32 Days Veg..Stunted? (PICS)
FACTS

Soil Medium: Miracle Grow "3 Months, Time released" potting soil - .21-.7-.14
Lighting: 150w HPS + 2"x2" 4 bulb T5 fluoro
Growth Stage: Vegatative
Light Cycle: 18/6
Temps: 86-90, average of 88
Strain: Sativa bagseed
Nutrients: Only fed once with 24-8-16 at 31 Days old (2 days ago)
Age: 33 days

PROBLEM

Plants are 33 days old and they seem small, minor secondary inter-nodal growth but nothing outstanding. The reason I am concerned is because a few months ago I had just 1 plant (as a test) under the T5 alone and it was double the size of the plants in question, although my memory does not serve me correctly and I do not remember how old it was at that size (my wife made me can it hehe). These three have been under the T5 alone and weren't really getting anywhere so I added the HPS, but it seems to have had no affect except to raise the temperature from mid 70s to 85-90ish. So then I added some light nutrients because the MG soil rating is only a fraction of a whole number...

I know MG soil sucks, I've grown in it before with the aforementioned plant with great results.

Am I being impatient or is something wrong. I am kicking myself for getting the MG soil again because I have a large un-opened bag of "Ez-Coco" ! I avoided it because I didnt want to have to regularly add nutrients being lazy, damnit.

I'm germinating some "Maui Wowie" as my 61 year old hippy friend (hopefully the seeds arent that old too!) called it. Some sort of sativa x hawaiin skunk mix. Anyway before I pop those babies in there should I be worried about the temperature? I'm growing in a closet with a black tarp fixed to the inside of the frame so there really is no way to ventilate it - it's gonna have to do, the only place my wife will allow it.

Any suggestions would greatly help! Thanks!

I'm not sure of the strain really. I know it is for sure it is some sort of Sativa. All the previous plants I've grown are with seeds from the same exact bag - I've had them in an air-tight mason jar for 7 months now, maybe that was the problem, how are you supposed to keep seeds? something I've overlooked?

Any other suggestions? Anything I'm doing wrong or just some bum seeds/genetics?

Yeah I am going to keep these going and see what happens. Maybe they are developing but I don't notice it because its all spread out between root growth, nodal growth and main fan leaf growth. They are growing though and look healthy so I'll just be patient and see.

the soil may have had a little too much nutes to begin with . By the looks of it there is some nute burn on the leaf tips but i may be wrong. Also i think sativas can be sensitive to nutes so probly best to wait till a few nodes tall to feed 1/4 strength

lose the MG soil, install some exhaust, it's needed, and they got nute burn, probably Nitrogen toxicixty. MG already has nutes for three months, you dont need to give it any nutes yet.

MG soil is fine. I've used to myself with great results. Your issue is you used 3 month feeding soil from the start, so the plants were getting shocked with nutrients. The node spacing seems well so light is probably not a huge issue. I would probably guess a watering issue at first glance causing root issues so the plants energy has been going to help correct that and not simply growing or the soil is burning the plants. It could be seed genetics but if the others all grew fine then thats doubtful. Personally though I don't like waiting around so I would probably put them in a new soil, let them recover for a few days and then give them a nice dosage of nuts. If they take them and grow then thats great, if not then I don't want those little ones anyway.
