Red face Root Rot? Impact quality of plant?
So I was playing around with my setup, to try and get more exhaust out of my homebox xs. In the process I ended up reversing my inline fan which caused my temperatures to spike to 40 degrees C for a period of 6 hours (went to bed before the lights came on).

Anyhoo, I got a little root rot on my only jack herrer. I think it's rebounded quite nicely and grown a new set of roots. However, I'm still not sure if it's something I should be trying to kill off actively, maybe with h202?. I've attached pics below.

Botanicare cal-mag plus

Oh, and I've attached pics of what I like to call "pandoras box"

you ever try to drink through a straw wit a crack in it? kinda think any damage to roots would be like that for a plant . lucky though that cannabis is a resiliant plant that can rebound nicely. i wouldnt worry. although im sure someone will contradict

Hey Nizer, I'm afraid i cant help you with your problem much but I couldnt help noticing the height of your little grow tent there? How high is it and where did you get it? Ive been looking for a tent thats less than 5ft tall for a while.

Root rot (Pythium) can kill your plant if you let it get out of control. It'd be wise to try and get rid of it asap. If you have been using Hygrozyme in that setup, it is a DWC, no? I am curious how root rot happened in that short of a period of having the temps spike. If you have been using Hygrozyme since the beginning and you already have a healthy enzyme pop on the roots it may just be the Hygrozyme staining the roots. When I used hygrozyme (briefly) it made my roots brown and slimy so I discontinued use and only used SM-90 as my additive. Since then, res smells good and roots are white.

It is hard to tell from the pics how bad it is, maybe it is just the lighting, but they look yellow to me. If it smells like sewage, and the plant is not taking up nutrients like it was before then it is root rot and your plant will continue to get worse before it gets better until you sort out the rot. I'd try SM-90 if your looking for a quick fix. Best of luck to ya.
