Help, plants dying with 2-3 weeks to go :~(

Hi All,

Having major problems with my babies & need your help please...

3 weeks to the chop & they may not even last that long...they will be six weeks into flowering this thursday.

I posted on the problems page last week (https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/157464-over-fert.html) & was happy with the suggestion I received.

It started with the fan leaves going yellow with black/brown spots appearing which then turned into black almost burnt sections on the leaves, the leaves would then droop, curl up on themselves & drop off after a while. The yellowing has now spread to the fan leaves which appear just under the buds on most of the branches & the leaves around the centre colas have started to go slightly yellow so I am guessing it is only time till they follow in the same way :~(

My ph is fine & in my opinion (A beginners may I add) I did not over fert?!?

The conclusion from my other thread was that I had a fert salt build up from not flushing which had locked out the nutes, this made sense so I flushed 6 days ago & gave them a 1/2 strength feed but the problem has got worse :~(

I know leaves turn yellow as the plants mature, but it started at week 4 which seems a little early to me?

Any ideas please?

Forgot to mention that I feed once a week and use a water, water, feed schedule.

Looks like you have a K deficency. Thats what cause black spots and rust colored veins on the leaves. What is the NPK of your nutes. The recomended NPK for flower is 10-30-20. The flush was good but if it is not getting enough K it wont fix the problem.

thanks v much bubba...

I'm using hesi bloom which I don't think is that strong?

Maybe 10-8-8 or something like that.

It is recomended for flowering so not sure why it is
so low...

I also have a hesi phos plus which is ment
to be used at week 4 on flowering onwards.

I was using this...I think it is p & k not sure
of the values though.

Should I look at a stronger fert?

Checked the n-p-k values and they are as follows:

Hesi bloom is 4-3-5

Hesi phos plus is 0-8-4...

Both products are used at the same time after
week 4 of flowering...

I am using soil so maybe this is why they are lower
values?

Should I get something with a higher k value?

Thanks

What you have here Muff is simply a case of a plant going into flowering.
Take a breath. She's doing fine.
3 weeks to go, I don't think so. There are so many variables. Who knows how long she's got but let her do her thing.
I checked out the other thread briefly.
As soon as you turn the lights and change the nutes for flowering she will start looking for N, you will start to see weird shit going on from the beginning in hydro let alone 4 weeks in soil.
She looks fine bro.
Let's see more pics of the plant in full not individual leaves as she progresses.
Are the flowers healthy? Bud leaves, stiggy's etc? That's all you need to be interested in.
The leaves, especially the shady's, are going to get used up during flowering.
How they end up on their way is going to be inconsistent.
The NPK breakdown of your ferts' is cool.
Stick with your schedule and keep us posted with updated pics

Thanks Mammath...

I hope your right :-)

I have had yellowing leaves on all my grows
which I have always considered normal...

These look different though, the spots are the
worrying thing...

I will take some better photos tonight and post :-)

Thanks again...

Thanks tyre...

Will post some pics tonight...

All the leaves are starting to yellow as
opposed to just the fan leaves which is
why I am starting to worry :-(

Thanks again...

Here we go...

I had to use my iphone so the pics are pretty bad for colour, all the pale green leaves you see are pretty much yellow rather than pale green.

I almost feel embarrassed to have posted this thread now as they look fine in the photos :~(

Tks all...

The yellowing of the leaves culd mean harvest time is near. Cause sometimes it is a sign of the plant losing its vigour. Meanin time is almost up. Every type of strain is different, even the harvest time.

Cheers Smokin,

I agree but they are probably 3-4 weeks off as opposed to 2-3 weeks in the title &
the leaves are going yellow & dropping off much faster than the buds seem to be
bulking up & ripening...

I have about 5 brown pistols in total from the 4 plants so they have a while
to go yet I would say?

If I was at week 8 & the buds (especially the centre colas) were bigger with hairs
turning brown then I would have no issues as it would appear
perfectly normal, but I'm not yet on week 6?

Hey Muffin

Look'n good man. You got nothing to worry about here.
They look a lot further on than that first pick so maybe you do only have 2-3 weeks to go.
You should start to see those buds really bulk up soon.
Have you got a little scope to check your trichomes?

Thanks Mammath,

Yep, got a scope, but all the hairs/pistols are still white so have
not even thought of using it yet. A few hairs have turned amber
but not many, so figured I had a good 3 weeks left before I used it?

As I said, the pics came out a lot darker than they actually are due
to the camera & light, so the pale yellow leaves look dark & greenish.

The centre colas don't seem to have increased in size over the
last 2-3 weeks which is pretty much the same time that the
leaves started to go yellow (4 weeks in flowering).

Maybe I am losing it :~( but on previous grows (All two :~) the
centre colas have been huge by this point & the leaves would
only just have started to turn yellow.

Yeah, you don't need the scope yet, just making sure you got one. It's the best way to accurately judge correct harvest time.
Is this the same strain as you have always grown?

Nope, these are white widow clones where as I have previously
grown The Church (GHSC) & Lowlife White Russian Autos straight
from seed.

What brand of widow?
I understand your concerns, it's always different when growing a new strain though.
The widows are sativa dom' I think, so they will take a while to thicken compared to the indica dom' strains you've previously grown.
By the look of the length of the stiggies they definitely have the potential to thicken up, there just not there yet.
Keep us posted.

Not sure what brand of widow to be honest mate...

The guy I got them off said to flower for 8 weeks.

That's all the info I was given :-(
