2'6" sounds good for now, that distance between the 3rd and 2nd node looks a lot better. I always use the back of my hand at plant level to feel the heat from the lamp to judge correct distance.
With the JF's you could have probably had those cfl's a little closer but better to be a little stretched than fried. Just keep an eye on them under the 1000w, if they continue stretching lift them up to get more of the light.

Just wanted to put up a pic of each one of the 3 fem arjans ultra haze...one of them is extra sativa looking and has some crazy nodal growth goin on...I think they are doing well with the recovery from those crazy ppms and whatnot..ppm is at 210 right now..keeping ph from 5.6-6.3....here are some pics of the 5 fem jask flash, they are coming along i nicely i think. Tomorrow the supplies to upgrade our system should be in and I am very excited to get that going...when do you think I should put the JF's into the system? When we do we will be changing out the res solution to accomidate the little ones of course.

oh yea and would i be able to take a pic of the roots hanging out the bottom or is that to much light exposure?

Interesting question. Being a sativa, I would, unless you want 12ft plants.

Yea I am definately topping the ultra hazes..that link there is great for alot of solid information. I chose the ultra haze because of the high thc to cbd ratio and that cerebral high, im pretty down for that...and yea ive watched all the ultra haze videos..in fact i bought the GHSC seeds because the videos solidified my decision...The JK's however, are from sensi seeds.

The guy on that thread says once your plants have 5-6 nodes..cut right above the second true node...Im just thinking thats alot of growth to be taking off. Its really gunna hurt me inside to take all that hard earned growth off to shorten these plants up but its supposed to be worth it..im gunna only do it to one of them tonight because i should be able to see where the new growth points are within about 24 hrs...then ill do the other 2

You don't have to let the plant grow to much past where your going to top it. If you want to top after the second true node then you're ready for that. I always top after the 4th true node but it depends on the strain. I think your are ready to top at anytime. Make sure you use some sterilized scissors.
Not only does it produce more tops but it promotes the bottom branches to grow out and up.
The pictures below are my current grow, she was topped after the forth node and is now producing 6 - 10 nice colas. Pictures taken at week 3 12/12.



PS. GHSC have some excellent strains. I have the Himalayan Gold and Big Bang seeds I will be growing in the future. Sensi seeds are also a very reputable seed co' and I have a Super Skunk of theirs which is 4 days old in my veg cab . That will be part of my next grow.

yea i just topped the one that was looking the most pure sativa like right above the second node like that look u showd me said...But im thinking about topping right above the 3rd node of the other ones. So are you saying you wait till your plants have 4 nodes and then u top them right above the second node...or that you top them right above the 4th node? your plant is looking very nice there...i can see 9 good colas coming up..that baby is gunna produce..what strain is it? and is that one plant or two, how big is your container

Wait until they have 4 nodes and top above the 4th.
or wait until they have 3 nodes and top above the 3rd.
No need to grow the plant above where your going to top.
All you need is enough growth so you can see where to cut.
My plant is just some bagseed I'm flowering to test out my new flower cabinet I've made. I think it's going to work pretty good. Looking forward to getting some quality strains into it. I've just sprouted a Sensi Super Skunk and a Flying Dutchmen Nepal Kush in my veg cabinet, they'll be ready to go straight in when she's done. I'm trying to create a 6-8week turn around.
It is just one plant. The pot it's in is a 30L I think. I can fit 2 of them in there. Some would say it's overkill for the size I grow them out but I like to give the roots plenty of space, they grow so fast when unrestricted, plus I'm in coco-coir.

yea i just toped one right above the 2nd node and the other 2 right above the 3rd node...It will be interesting to see how they differ..it sucks though cuzz i lost over a week of growth...they just look lame as hell right now...this is my first grow though so i guess i dont know any better....my dad was a bot major and got me growing stuff from a really early age but i never really messed with any of the details..

when i was in highschool i was growing 18 bagseed plants on my roof...my older brother told on me and this is my first grow since then...they were actually really healthy good looking plants over a foot tall each...ive always wanted to grow some pot...its like the ultimate thing to grow and perfect imo...just wanna do things right the first time around and not fuck anything up to bad..

tomorrow im upgrading the system so it recirculates and ill be puting the other 5 pots onto the system for the JF's...You can see the roots on the bottom of the little rockwool cubes starting to come out...are they ready for the system? I know...I never run out of questions to ask..

Yeah, get the JF's in there. They don't need any more than 150ppm at the moment though.
