I Have a small problem with one plant, it doesn't look too major and life threatening as of yet...

But.

One of the plants is behaving really oddly, when it first came up it had three leaves instead of 2 like the others and now each node seems to have three sets of leaves.. (i see no problem here, probably just some mutation or some Shizz..)

Now that it has sets of three blades on the leaf (3 sets of 3 blades) i noticed all the larger leaves and the single bladed leaves seem to have patchy yellowness and very very mild spots (im talking like 3 or 4 spots about 1ml diameter) that have gone brown (could be some damage.. :S) and the edges of the leaves seem to twist and curl both up and down on the same edge?.. Odd.. doesn't seem to fall in any of the nute categories...

Im growing the small seedling under a CFL light wich hovers on its side about 3.. maybe 4 inches above the plant so i think its getting enough light, and i water it when scratching an an inch into the soil uncovers more dry soil.. (Roughly twice a week)

The big tray has 2 plants on opposite sides and its other smaller sibling seems to growing just fine.. ...

Ill try get a picture or two of the odd leaves and spots up tomorow..

If anyone could tell me if they think its sativa/indica that would also be quite interesting as its some random unknown seeds...

I can tell you that you're probably going to need to post some pics on here to get any action out of anyone.

Yeah... its like 5:32 in the morning here though.. lol..

And i kinda expected that from any site specialy a site almost entirely to do with weed.. LOL..

But you think if i get some half descent pictures up id have a chance of correcting the mistake?..

Id love to see what kind of yield youd get of a tetra-cotyledron so i hope it survives... Hope it doesn't suck my light like a b***h

+ i was wandering how old a plant has to be before you start flowering.. Like, are there any tell tale signs to look for?..

There is no age on when to start flowering. Some ppl start their plants on 12-12 as soon as first set of sereated leaves show. Its just that plants that have 5,6,or 7, nodes respond to 12-12s sooner and show their flowers.

What you want to do is go to your local pool supply or better yet hydro store and buy a ph test kit or meter. Once you can properly ph water so the plants can use the nutrents than you look at whats in the water. you can tell by starting with clean water like distilled or R/O then add nutrents and check the amount with a TDS meter. Total disolved solids or salts.

Then someone can help you properly.

Honestly most of the time it is one of three things. PH is off, Over watering or too many nutes.

Oh and the longer the veg the higher the yield, plants can flower at any time but what you get out of it changes. 6 to 8 weeks veg works for me. By that time the plant has had a chance to mature it will grow larger and the buds will cure better in the end.

Well.. I dont have a brilliant pH kit, but im sure the water im putting in is just under pH 6.. suppose to be like 5.5 right?..

Anyway heres some pictures:

1) curling of leaf edge??
2) curling of edge??
3) 2 circled dead patches.. blotchiness on leaf?
4) WAS trying to show there are three leaves at each node, a bit blurry...

Note: Any one got any info on the fact it has three leaves at each node??
seems to grow like twice as fast..
natural polyploidy?


Well either way, ill listen and update on any recovery... or any degredation for that matter..

The only thing that puzzles me is that two plants in one tray, recieving same water, same soil.. but one acts up?.. Fair enough there not the same seed and may be different subspecies.. but its all marajiuana right?..
This lead me to think of mites.. but i dont think there are any (checked leaf with carefull inspection) maybe a fungus has attacked it?..

If its any importance i haven't given them any nutes yet, as i believe the soil should be good for a good few weeks but thats comming to an end..

p.s. anyone wanna give a line or two of advice for nutes?

i had a plant that did exactly the same thing it was one of 5 nemesis from seedsman seeds. it had the three node growth and was always yellow. i had flushed it and changed it,s p.h to all different levels from 5.5 up to 7. i repotted, checked it for over/under nuting. over the space of two months the plant still grew new growth with the old growth yellowing and dying.so now listening to you having the same problem i am curious to know if this happens with most 3 noded plants. maybe they develop a deficiency through the growing of the third node.

That appeals to me greatly. as the other plant in the other side of the tray is doing fine, and id hate for it to be something which might spread to its older sister :P..

Did you manage to finish the grow on your tri-cotyledon?..
did it produce more bud?..
grow any bigger/faster than other for you?
