I've got one plant that appears to be showing signs of nutrient burn. However it started before I ever added any nutrients. Is this possible?
The leaves have a lot of little yellow-brown spots. It is worst along the edges. In fact the edges have started to dry out and crumble. Nothing, including water, was ever come into contact with the leaves. Details: I have a very modest set-up. Lighting: 400 watt MH, 18/6 Medium: potting soil mixed with perlite Temp: - Mostly in 70’s, although the 1st two weeks it was much higher Humidity: 45-55% pH: around 6.5 Water: - every 2-3 days. I let the top part of the soil dry out completely. I’m trying not overwater. C02: nope Ventilation: I turn a fan on periodically everyday Nutes: I just started using guano at ½ strength. The problem started before I started using the nutes, so originally I thought it could have been an N deficiency The plant, (Blue Appolo grown from seed) in question is almost a month old. The problem, which is getting worst, first appeared about 10 days ago. Any thoughts, Should I just prune the afflicted leaves? Thx Kokuma |

The soil or perlite probably has nutes in it. If its Miracle Grow perlite... then it definitely has nutes in it.

Ahhhhhh Miracle Grow, that's it. I've done so much preliminary research and reading and I guess I messed that up.
Now what? I think transplanting them would cause more stress....right? Should I try a flush. Sooner or later the nutrients should get used up right? I guess I shouldn't use any for a while and I should just check my pH. Any other thoughts? There are 5 plants, one is showing signs of nutrient burn, pretty bad on the older leaves, another just has some spots. The remaining plants look good so far. Thanks Tom |

Transplant to plain topsoil and perlite, flushing will only activate MORE fertilizer in MG soil and make things even worse.
