I'll start from the beginning- 4 clones given to me a week ago. When I got them they had been kept outside in 6 inch pots during the day and brought into a house at night and put under a small, full spectrum flourescent bulb. They were 2-3 weeks old when I got them and all 6" and under. Three different strains of unknown names. The first night we had them they were kept outside at a friends house in cold temp all night long. the next day I brought them home and let them sit outside while I set up the flourescents I had from my shop (4' 32W Cool Whites). I was directed to immediately repot and put under my HPS 600w bulb when I got them but decided to wait a couple of days before repotting and doing so while letting them sit under the flourescents at 24hrs/day just to see how they would do. A day later they were infested with spider mites. I sprayed a neem oil mix liberally for the next three days once per day which seemed to do the trick. When I repotted two days later, the tallest one had already grown roots of about a foot long and the other three had barely broken out roots of the rockwool cubes they were in. I transplanted them to the large pots with EB stone Organics Potting soil with about a 10% Perlite mix. It is the only thing I have given them besides the neem in the week I have had them. I watered them twice immediately after I transplanted them and the soil has been wet for three days now. The top three inches seem to be drying out but the bottom of the pots are reading at a 3.5 out of four on my moisture meter. The question is what the hell do I do now? I have a Liquid Pure Blend Pro Grow Veg Formula(3-1.5-4) which was recommended but the soil isn't drying out and my leaves are browning and curling so when do I apply? Here are the specs of my room-
Soil (With a 10% Perlite mix)- EBStone Organics Potting Soil (Contains Composted Fir Bark, Sphagnum Peat Moss, Redwood Compost, Mushroom Compost, Volcanic Pumice, Earthworm Castings, Washed Sand, Kelp Meal, Bat Guano, Feather Meal, Gypsum and Mycorrhizae.Oyster Shell Lime and Dolomite Lime are added as pH adjusters. A natural wetting agent, Yucca shidegera saponin, has been added to help remoisten the product.) The Temp is consistently between 75-80F with fresh air coming straight from ducts outside and exhaust goes into the attic. Humidity is consistently between 44-50%. I have a humidifier but when I turn it on the temp in the room goes up to 80 and I'm worried about the moisture not drying out the soil and causing root rot. The PH- Consistently at about 5.9 to 6 on my PH meter I realize these poor things have had immense stress and has stunted the growth tremendously. One is a little over a foot and the others are about half the size haven't hardly grown at all. PLEASE HELP!! I will be forever in your grattitude. By the way, everything I have said here is made up. The story above is hypothetical and just for the sake of bettering the community's understanding of gardening. pictures were taken from an unknown website to help the reader further imagine the circumstances. |
