Unwitting gardener tends marijuana plants

AMSTERDAM: A 73-year-old Dutch man was astonished to learn from police that the begonias he had lovingly tended on his doorstep concealed a secret marijuana plantation.

"Police officers suddenly noticed marijuana plants sprouting from his begonias," a police spokeswoman in The Hague said on Friday.
The Hague pensioner promised to destroy the marijuana plants, which he believes were planted by local youngsters, while preserving his begonias.

Earlier this month the Dutch government set up a task force to crack down on marijuana cultivation in the country.

Growing marijuana is illegal in the Netherlands, but sales of it and other cannabis-related soft drugs in coffee shops have been tolerated for decades.

so you cant grow it there ,,, But you can use it , sell it , Can you IMPORT it ? how do you get it if its illegal to grow ................

i belive u can grow up to 6 plants for percy.any more and u risk jail.
all the coffee shop suppliers are underground growers and the coffee shops can only have 500grams MAX on the premises at any one time and u can only purchase and carry 5grams on u.
annd yes...im well aware u can go into the shops and buy 15grams!!!!!! the law states 5.
Cannabis is still ILLEGAL in holland.
