SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Marion County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Salem man and charged him with growing several times the amount of marijuana he was allowed to cultivate under the state's medical marijuana laws.
They say they believe he hired a 15-year-old boy to help him with his plants.
Fifty-six-year-old Marc Kauffman was arrested after police found 35 mature plants and eight immature ones outside his home.
The law for growers with a Medical Marijuana Program card has a limit of six mature and 18 immature plants and up to a half pound of dried marijuana.
